I am with you.I still call the Raiders by their old city name.
Oakland lost all their sports teams too.
He doesn’t have to stay on that contract. He would know and any team trading for him would know he’s getting a new contract, the fact that he still would have 2 years on the deal though would give the trading team time and leverage to work out the deal.No one would touch him for a conditional 7th after this season with that remaining contract value.
Since they’d cut him after the season, before his $35.64 million salary hits the books, they wouldn’t get a compensatory draft pick when he signs elsewhere. The only way to get compensation is to trade him before the deadline, which arrives in five weeks.
Let’s start building that hype:
That would actually give him the leverage over a team. Any trade for any value would require a restructure prior to a trade. He doesn’t have to stay on that contract. As pointed out above, something similar to the Diggs deal is what it would take, especially if we have to get LV to eat the amount of money needed to make it happen.
Would not consider anything more than a 4th and significant changes to his contract, or the Raiders eat a large chunk of it. We need draft picks to shore up our depth and find a replacement for some of the aging vets.Raiders open to trading WR Adams, sources say
The Raiders have informed other teams that they would "consider" trading wide receiver Davante Adams for a package that would include a second-round pick and additional compensation, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.www.espn.com
Would hope we would not give up a 2nd plus additional compensation.
