If you see "far worse" posted on this forum, don't assume that the mods see it, instead, report it. People have been using that line to excuse their own behavior for 27 years. We cannot, do not read every post. Look at it this way, if you see someone stealing $100 worth of groceries, does that somehow make it ok for you to go in and steal a lesser amount? No! It's still theft. Likewise, whether you break the rules here by a little or a lot, you are still breaking the rules.Sorry didn’t mean to be this way. I’ve seen far worse on this forum, especially when it comes to defending Saints personnel, but apparently it’s open season on ML. I get the drift.
I can see from the complaints that I've been getting that I need to crack down on uncivil behavior on this board. That's on me. Since I went back to work in October I've stayed busy with that, and spend most of my time here posting news and keeping up the tweets & media threads the best I can, and not reading a lot of posts, so I need to pay more attention to that when possible.
Any impression that the mods here are biased against Mickey Loomis, or his supporters is baseless. Personally, I appreciate Mickey for his vast contributions to past success, and I believe that post-Payton he has done his best. Unfortunately, an inordinate amount of misfortune has bit this team; however, and I am repeating myself, when you both sign and draft too many oft-injured players, a certain amount of that is not to be unexpected, and with DA having been fired mid-season, effectively removing any buffer between Loomis and the fans, it has left him exposed to the full ire of said fans.
I feel like it may be time for him to hand over the GM reigns to someone else. Pure speculation, but I sense that he is positioning himself to do just that. With control comes credit, but also comes blame. The latter is hard to deal with. If I were Loomis, I would not want to deal with the blame part at this stage of his life when he should be enjoying the fruits of his labor. Then again, we'd all prefer to end our careers on a high note, and this would be quite sour, so like I said, I am merely speculating due to his bringing in two former GM's Randy Mueller and Dave Zeigler thinking that it could be an audition of sorts.
