Media Derek Carr is still top ten in QBR this season per ESPN (35 Viewers)

True, but Carr becomes straight up garbage if things aren't 100 percent perfect. That's the only way anybody can win with Carr is if you protect him like you have the Cowboys OL from the 90s or whoever had the best OL in history.

Most of the league lives in that same area. Cowboys fans say the same thing about Dak. And he's now the highest paid player in NFL history.

I’m not spoiled by Drew Brees. All I care about is if a QB racks up wins for us. Drew is immortal in my eyes and I’ve severely lowered my standards for anyone that comes behind him. It’s easier that way.

 I had the same thought process, but indeed that second tier is fairly large these days, when you consider the top tier isn't as large as it once was.

Allen would indeed be near the top of the list of names on it, whereas Carr would be down the line. Unless and until Allen's Bills can somehow overcome the Chiefs in a playoff game, he'll remain second tier.
Thanks for the reply. I was curious of the thought behind the statement.

I don’t necessarily think Allen should bee in the same tier as Mahomes and one or two more, but he’s in a different tier than Herbert, who might be in a different tier than Carr, because he’s younger with more room to grow.

We all saw very quickly Rattler isn’t what we hoped for. Carr actually has been consistent, after week 2 everyone wanted to blow him.

If you go based off of our Oline play, no receivers, he’s actually stepped up in a tremendous way..
Yes he threw an Ochsner ball to Olave, but the guy is truly just trying to make a play for this city.

Ochsner ball or not, the reason Olave was knocked out was the headhunter defender trying to knock him out.

I'd rather rile with Carr and continue to build than draft one of these QBs.

Once people determine that they don’t like someone, for whatever reason, it’s hard to change their minds.

It’s their selfish desire to be proven right being the priority over their team’s success.

I have been saying for a long time now that the people complaining about Carr just have an unrealistic view of what QB play looks like because they had been watching near perfect QB play for so long. It’s like they don’t watch other games closely or something.

This is what a normal “good but not HOF caliber” NFL QB looks like. They are flawed and will make head-scratching mistakes, but can make all the throws and will give you good looking stat lines more often than not. And yes, they are reliant on good supporting casts, unlike the Superhuman QB era of yesteryear, with guys like Brees, Brady, and Manning, and they indeed will need a lot of help to get them to a championship setting.

Rattler for a 5th round rookie and all of the circumstances he had against him did fine not great but fine.

Sort of like when people have legitimate criticisms of Shedeur Sanders' game?
Ya because Sanders has been in the year for 10 + years, kinda like that huh.

Some kinda way, non-elite became equated hate and a terrible HC. After 10 + years, we all know who Carr is, but I personally would like us to have an elite QB because the goal should always be to win a championship.
Yeah and about 28 other teams in the league would like an elite QB. An I don't think we know who DC is Maybe he was the guy in the 1st 2 games with a just a healthy decent to good team and OC

Say what you want, but I honestly don't think Carr has had a bad season at all. I'm really not upset he'll be here next season. Oddly enough and as unexpected as it is to say/hear, he's been one of the more reliable parts of the offense this year. Much can be made and discussed about hospital balls, but he's putting the ball where receivers can catch it. At the end of the day, I'm backing off of sheet talking DC as the reason we suck bc I realize he's not been the actual reason.

He did not throw a hospital ball to Olave. Olave caught the ball with the cheap shot artist about 3 yards away and then he did what I called him, he took a cheap shot to Olave.
