Inflation here? gas/grocery prices just continue to climb (2 Viewers)

Doritos at Rouses went from 2.99$ at the start of the pandemic to 4.14$ :(
Ever since they left Associated Grocers, their prices have gone up. Remember the good ol days when Lays printed the price on the side of the bag of chips so stores had a hard time selling them over that amount? does Lays still print the price on their bags?
The one by my house has always been crazy high. They are one of those stores you can't really bargain shop at. At first I was excited when Rouse bought out Leblanc Payless stores, but now, not so much. There is a Rouses and a Neighborhood Walmart across from each other. When it was Payless i used to go there instead, but now i go to the Walmart. There is an AG store, Ralphs Supermarket, in Gonzales that I pass everyday on the way home. There isn't another store in the area that can beat their meat prices. I usually get all my meat from there. But Rouses, I feel like I have to move up a tax bracket to shop there.

All that we need to know

Since you seem the grocery answer guy, is Trader Joe’s more immune to these costs than others?
I’ve seen prices go substantially everywhere (the sausage at Winn Dixie😵‍💫), but TJ seems to be much steadier

I have only shopped at Trader Joes once, and its been a while. It isn't close to my house and well, its in Baton Rouge, so that should be reason enough not to frequent.lol.
There are 2 Winn-Dixies by me. I find their prices on the higher side also. The one thing i don't like about WD is their whole BOGO deals. lets up the price by 1 1/2 times and tell them its Buy one get half off.
There is a tiny grocery store out in the boonies where my parents live in Maurepas, and they have better prices on their stuff than a lot of big stores. But they are an AG store, so they get good prices. You would expect the only grocery store within 30 minutes would be high, but Kudos to the owners for not taking advantage of the commuinity. And to top it off, their meat prices are very good too.
I wish i didn't have to go to BR for Costco. My inlaws have a membership and go about once a month. I'll give her a list of some things and i'll just Venmo her for it. But the one item I make sure she gets is the Kirklands Toilet Paper. I think its like $20 for 30 XL rolls.

Just paid $80.62 to fill tank. 4.90/gal.

Never seen that before. Wow. Granted it was 93 octane, but that is the most I've ever paid.

4.25 for 87 octane

It’s a fine joke, but it sorta reminds me of the Biden/gas price (really stupid) meme
Clearly we are in a global recession- to what effect can the Fed influence inflation?
Fed QE and monetary policies absolutely do impact inflation. You print too much money, and the value of the dollar will go down. That said, it's clearly not the only factor. Demand and supply has a large impact as well. The US economy has a lot of moving parts, but the Fed is up near the top of things that can influence inflation.

I can't speak for other industries, but as far as the construction industry goes, I blame all increases in labor and fuel prices on a major spike in guys in hard hats sitting in their trucks on their phones with the A/C on.

he should use different term.

2 carriers in SE LA just halted new business policies.

( obviously joking about the "hurricane out there" but unfortunately not joking about 2 carriers stopping new business)
