Oh, have I mentioned around here that i own TSLA ? Which I bought in early 2016 ?? I did not realize . :hihi:

But no, the answer is they have to pry my Tesla shares out of my cold, dead hands becuase i own SUCH PRECIOUS FEW of them…….

I wish i could love the taste of steak like most people. Don't get me wrong, i like steak and eat it on occasion, but i was ruined by it while growing up. My dad was a butcher at a grocery store for 35 years. When i was a kid we ate steak ALL the time. My dad always got the "Managers Special" price on meat. We ate steak so often, my mom would use filet mignon to make fajitas because us kids would be like "not steak again"...lol. When i finally moved out of my parents house, I rarely ate steak for 10 years.
And now I will really break yalls heart and it may even get me banned from SR, but here it is.. I like my steak WELL DONE.
But at least I'm not like this guy: my wife used to have to cater to Credit Union Board members during functions. When they would have a function at a resturant, he wanted his steak burnt. not well done, not over done, but BURNT. She would always have to tell the cook or chef beforehand that this was gonna happed. they all hated it, and they always had to send it back to get cooked more, i guess it was against their principles to burn a steak..lol

I thought i had seen a lot in my life.. and not much surprises me anymore.. but i honestly, sincerely did not realize that we live in a world where people eat $100+ steaks, and actually consider them to be a ‘decent value’ at that price.. not making a judgement at all, since some people would probably look askew at me if they knew what ive paid in my life for certain football tickets, suite passes, parking passes, etc.. but i just did not realize that a $100+ steak was an actual thing, especially if not dining in a fine restaurant with trimmings and wine… Now i know.

It's all relative. There are $100 bottles of wine that are worth every penny. That doesn't mean we all buy them every day.

I'm sorry for what was done to you. My 4 year old demands only "pink meat". She will not eat above medium. And all meat that is not steak isn't "real meat". The kid is a snob. She also says that she only wants her burgers made by Wendy, so there's that.

Now thats fighting words.. people really use A1 and ketchup on steak?
But something really is wrong with me, because i like really that blackened taste..

I have a friend who likes his steak extremely rare. Like raw rare. He'll tell them to put in on the grill for 30 seconds, flip it over for 30 seconds, then put it on the plate. When he eats a steak, it looks like he murdered soomeone. I ask why he don't just go ahead and eat it raw...

Can get that char over a screaming hot bed of charcoal and still keep it edible. Medium rare really is the flavor sweet spot. I like the char too so I'll throw it directly over the coals for a couple minutes each side to char/sear then move it to the cold side of the grill to finish. One of these days I'm going to cook one cowboy style.....directly on the coals. Seems like a method I would llike

for me it was 6 solid weeks in Buenos Aires where EVERYTHING was beef - incredible beef, but it was a lot
while i can enjoy a nice steak (or carne asada or whatever), i seldom have a hankering for it

Don't get me wrong, i won't turn down a steak, even if its rare. Unless its raw like my buddy likes them. On the occasion i do order a sreak at a resturant, i usually get it medium well.

I spent a week in BA and I totally know what you are talking about.
it got to the point where the women in the company only ordered salads and deserts (and 'salad' is just a bowl of whatever vegetable you mention - a carrot salad is a bowl of shaved carrots, so you would just 'build your own' salad with your waiter)

"ensalada de pasa, por favor"
- probably not buzd

Well it was only a week, so I suffered through. We did have an Italian seafood meal that was pretty good, and we went to Mendoza and Santiago after that and ate quite well.
