Some are suggesting that the NFL may not be taking New Orleans Saints’ quarterback Derek Carr’s recent injury news at face value.
In a recent episode of the Scoop City podcast, co-hosts NFL Insider Dianna Russini and former Saints quarterback Chase Daniel discussed the latest around Carr’s shocking injury news from late last week.
Along with sharing that the recent report of a shoulder injury threatening Carr’s 2025 availability came from Carr’s camp, she also notes that the league is seeing this developing story in a different light.
“I had a lot of text messages and conversations about the Derek Carr situation,” she said. “And it was very hard for me to find someone in football who said, ‘Oh, Derek’s definitely dealing with a serious shoulder injury.’ It was, ‘How long (have) you been doing this? You know what this is about, right?’ Trade bait, right? End of the day, that’s what this is about.”
This does align with the report earlier in the offseason that Carr and his camp were willing to explore other market options before his contract was eventually restructured. Previously, the assumption was that the contract being restructured would tie the quarterback and the Saints together for the 2025 season. However, this recent news is raising doubts about Carr’s future in New Orleans. ...

The speculation surrounding the New Orleans Saints and the possibility of taking Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders with the ninth pick of next week's NFL draft has been rampant.
In a city built on faith, hope, and second lines, Derek Carr’s arrival was billed as the start of a new era. Instead, it’s quickly devolved into a cautionary tale of questionable salary cap management and quarterback desperation.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave has appeared to put on significant muscle after pictures surfaced of the young wideout at voluntary OTAs.
Olave has dealt with multiple significant head injuries throughout his three-year NFL career, with some fans and former players advising him to retire due to the severity of his injuries. Despite some advising the young wideout to retire to avoid more injuries, he appears to remain committed to the team and has even bulked up during the offseason.
In 2024, Olave appeared in 8 games, catching 32 passes for 400 yards and a touchdown before...

Derek Carr has not attended the first phase of the New Orleans Saints’ voluntary workouts at the team’s practice facility this week, sources with knowledge of the situation said.
Just 13 days before the NFL Draft and 3 days before the New Orleans Saints players were due to report for voluntary workouts, news came out that quarterback Derek Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury that may or may not need surgery and could affect his ability for the upcoming season. The timing of this bomb dropped is very interesting since the team’s season has been over since January 5th and they just restructured Carr’s contract in early March. There have since been reports of Carr being unhappy and wanting out a trade out of New Orleans and now comes the news of an injury that no...

With the NFL Draft is right around the corner, it’s time for my one and only mock draft. Let me start by saying that I love reading mock drafts, but I don't like doing them. Night 1 of the draft is so exciting but totally unpredictable for the most part. So, most of the time, our mocks are wrong, sometimes really wrong. Yet every year, we do our research, write them up and hope for the best. With that, I give you my in a “perfect world” prediction...

Four of the New Orleans Saints’ Week 1 starters in 2024 along the offensive line were homegrown, and all of them were top-50 picks in their respective drafts.
Let me start this off by saying, I know a lot of you all are already angry and you haven’t made it past the headline. Felt like that should be acknowledged early on.
With the news that Derek Carr may miss the season, and the lack of a for sure number one QB option for the New Orleans Saints (although I do believe in you Spencer), some are looking around at what is available whether through the NFL Draft or free agency.
What if I told you that there is a former Super Bowl Champion, former Super Bowl MVP, 4-time NFL MVP and 10-time Pro Bowler that is sitting around on April 14 without a...
