Sad but true. This season cannot end fast enough.
Some people want to blame the OL but he fumbled twice on the same play in embarrassing fashion, threw terrible INTs and just made bad decisions countless times. Yes the OL was bad and gave him some pressure, but even with a clean pocket he still made terrible decisions.
He needs more time in this league, but the first impression wasn't good.
Yeah, it’s been a uniquely disheartening season. This season cannot end fast enough.
Rattler didn't have all them. Olave got hurt on the first play of the Tampa game, missed the Broncos game on a short week and came back for the Chargers game. Shaheed played the Tampa game got hurt and has missed the rest of the games, and Taysom missed Tampa and Denver games and came back for the Chargers game. Add that with playing with 3 - 4 string guards and centers and playing 3 games in 10 days and don't forget the Bucs had 10 days off before they played the Saints. So who did he have again?LOL and SR had Olave , Shaheed and Taysom , all JH has in MVS a gut we got off the street a few wks ago SMH
The biggest negative also happens to be the one that typically cannot be coached- pocket presence. Rattler had no feel for the pocket, similar to Aaron Brooks. Always retreating instead of navigating the pocket like great QBs do (Brees, Mahomes and Montana are the best 3 I've ever seen do it). Pocket presence is mostly an enate skill, either a QB immediately has great pocket awareness or he never develops it.Unfortunately, there's more. Sometimes he did have a pocket to throw in and made throws. Sometimes good, sometimes awful. And sometimes the decision on who to throw to was bad. Sometimes he had a WR to throw to and he hesitated, and coverage sank down on the receiver and he was no longer a good option to throw to (missing the read entirely).
DA didn't do that guy any favors with the conditions of starters, but it was very, very clear that SR isn't close to ready yet. It wasn't much better than Ian Book. A couple of years has the potential to settle him down and make improvements because unlike Book, SR does have some traits that he can use to move the ball. He may be better off doing what Kyle Murray used to do. 1 read and run if the pass isn't there. Over a few years he should be able to add it to two reads as he grows.
We will lose out except for possibly the Raiders and that’s at best 50/50.I don’t want to tank but sadly I see a higher draft pick coming now
I am only 42. I do remember the Mora days and everything after, but some of that I was too young I guess to honestly know about all the stuff we know about as we play and learn the game. All I know is that regardless of how Haener performs, the Rattler supporter’s will have their mental gymnastics to say he is the future and so will the Haener supporters… the two opposing sides are entrenched against one another.
He has no idea.
People act like Rattler was a 2nd round pick instead of a 5th just because he’s a running QB.

Was it always like this? I remember the controversy over Aaron and Jake bc of Aaron having the hurt shoulder. Hasslet wouldn’t sit him and it cost us the playoffs. Was there that much divide then amongst fans and I was just young and oblivious?
It seems like since Winston came along this all really took off. Like some feel there has to be sides. As if we must be on one side or the other, in the corner of one QB or the other.
Then often times it gets worded like this like it’s a divide. It’s ridiculous, at least to me. Now don’t get me wrong, there are a few out there that want things to go their way for their own personal agenda, but I can almost guarantee that the far majority just want the saints to win and teams to cover their bets
