Jeff Duncan on Sean Payton 2023 (5 Viewers)

Was listening to Inside New Orleans on WLAE and Mike Detiller was the guest. He said he was told a few months ago that this was probably McVay's last season and could be a spot of Payton. They have no first round picks in 23 per Lions trade. So for me, thats a nah fam.

If he goes to the Rams, he’s there just for a paycheck. They are deteriorating fast into a worse position than the Saints.

That’s the worst case IMO. And one that makes a ton of sense.

I don't see the Saints FO letting Patyon go without getting value in return. No first round pick, no Payton, period.
I really hope you’re right. Don’t care if they have to trade Kupp or Donald somewhere to get that 1.

ML can’t afford to short-change his best asset.

Payton will not go to the Rams. The reason he left the Saints was he did not like how its future looked. If McVay leaves, the reason will be the Rams' future looks bleak. That is not the type of team Payton is looking to coach.

And Payton is not coming back. I heard an interesting morning discussion on 1420 in Lafayette where it was said that everything we have heard from and about Payton for the past 12 months has been orchestrated by team Payton. Everything. The interviews. The big dinner for the New Orleans sports media earlier this year--does anyone really believe it was an act of friendship or appreciation rather than the blatant marketing of the Payton brand.

What's wrong with Payton doing team Payton things? I mean, there's nothing surprising about that, right? I'm not really worried about his intentions because you, nor anyone other than Payton knows what his intentions are.
