Mohu Leaf 50 Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna Multi MH-110584 - Best Buy

did u put it in the attic and connect it to the splitters for the different rooms?

where do you buy the kodi box? and once i do that do i need the different accounts (hulu/netflix/prime). is kodi a one time buy or monthly fee?

just trying to learn about all the options.

Here is how (one way at least) you can set up for multiple tvs.

How to Connect Multiple TVs to your OTA Antenna

There is only one show in all of TV that I actually want to see as it happens, and that is Game of Thrones. Which you can either pay 15 a month for 3 months for, or buy the episodes as they come out.. or wait for the DVD collection.

you can also get hbo for $5 a month if you also subscribe to directv now. only problem is DTN isn't really that great

Play Satation Vue with Roku ...I kept Cableone Internet....150Mbps download/ 500GB plan for $80/month. I returned their crappy modem and got my own Netgear CM600 / 24 x 8/960Mbps cable modem and saved another $9/month...I should have done this YEARS ago!!

How do you like PS Vue? Which package did you get? I might get the second cheapest one, so I can watch ESPN News to watch my hockey team in the tourney. Is there a free trial period? How long is it?

Anyone else use it? How good is it?

I forgot if I posted in here, but all I have is Comcast Internet, Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu. I might get rid of Hulu as less shows I watch are on it now. I use my HD antenna for local broadcasts.

I don't expect to use Vue long term, but who knows.

Internet(59.99) 100MB, Netflix 11.00, Amazon Prime 11.00, Firestick with Kodi on it. HD Antenna(50 Mile Radius)(Get about 40 Channels local). With taxes and fees it is lower than 100.00 per month. 6 Months ago i was paying 245 per month and it was no where as good as i got right now.

I cut the cord last month and we went with PS Vue, Netflix, HD Antenna, and Firestick with Amazon Prime.

We use PS Vue mostly on the Firestick. It's good and has everything you need. At first we seemed to get a few interruptions, but it hasn't been happening for the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure what changed. But other than that problem initially, it's been good. It has everything you need and want.

It's a little more cumbersome to use than Direct TV (which we had before) on the Firestick. That's mostly because you have to do everything with the Firestick control. What I mean is that it takes more time to bring up the guide or change channels for instance. So that can be a little annoying if you're used to a cable or satellite control. But once you get the hang of it, it's not that bad.

We got the most expensive package because I wanted HBO too. It's still almost $70 less than what I was paying with Direct TV. So I'm happy so far. We've talked about buying the Fire TV, because it has better memory and a better processor. It would be much better for streaming PS Vue I have to think.

That is the biggest issue for cutting the cord at this point for me and my family anyways. Having to jump from one device or app to another to browse what you may want to watch....Especially for the Wife.

Also, usually when I call Dish and threaten to cut the cord, they offer me enough discounts to keep me.

So far so good...We also got the second cheapest (CORE SLIM) I pay around $35 or so. Vue offers a free 30 day trial as does HBO and Showtime. I added the ROKU to it because ROKU has Playstation Vue as a channel so we can watch Vue from other sets in the house. so for $126/month I have TV with local channels, internet and more channels than I can handle...Ohhh, Vue also has a DVR so we can record and watch later. I was paying $266/month to Cable ONE....not no mo'!!

I signed up for the basic service and have been with that for a while. However, Vue is doing some type of promo I assume (it came out as YouTubeTV was first announced) giving their lower tier customers service on the highest tier for three months at no additional charge.

Tried Vue, Sling and Directv Now. IMO, Vue is much better. Especially with the DVR service.
Another app to look into is USTVNOW. Roku has an app, but android does not (haven't looked recently) and it also has a Kodi Addon. ABC, NBC, CBS, CW FOX (there is another one I'm forgetting) that are free if you sign up for an account. All the other channels are pay like Vue and Sling. Network channels are based in Los Angeles and New York, so there isn't really local, but its worth a look.
Another thing with Kodi is you don't have to use the "not so legal" addons to get use of it. There are Netflix, youtube, USTVNOW, all TV network addons that you can use. But you will have to log into them using your credentials. Network apps you will have to use your provider (VUE, Cox, Charter) Netflix and those you will have to log in like you would using the app. It kind of like a one place for most streaming apps.

I also have an outdoor Antenna. I live in Baton Rouge and I get 24 local channels. Didn't realize there were that many OTA channels locally.
MeTV, AntennaTV, GetTV, EscapeTV, Grit TV, Laff, Bounce, WFLT, ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, CW, LPB. Some others that I am missing. Some networks have multiple channels.

so my mother is even asking me about a firestick now b/c she has heard she can watch anything.

is there any current or "on the immediate horizon" push back from cable/internet providers if you go the firestick - Kodi - Exodus route?

I am just looking at what could go bad before I even go down that road.

I don't think so. you do need to check your internet service. I have Cox and the 50 mbps and it has a data cap. I believe I get 1 TB of data if I go over, then there are overage fees..
I have 4 streaming devices, 3 phones, 2 tablets and a laptop on my network, and only came close once (used 75%). have a friend who went over once using ATT Uverse, so he upgraded to the 1GB Mbps because it had unlimited data.

edit:
If you do use Exodus type addons with Kodi, do not download the movies/tv shows. you will get a dirty letter from your provider..

Have they started charging overage fees yet? I know I went over one or two months and didn't see anything added.

my friend who has ATT Uverse was either charged, or was given the option to upgrade to the unlimited 1 GB mbps plan. thought he was charged, but could be wrong.
