I'm not even sure what this nebulous "window is shut" is referring to. What window? And how exactly is it shut? Window for....having a decent team? Having a playoff team? Getting to the SB? That's all based on pretty subjective criteria. Having everything in place guarantees nothing.
It's a parity driven league and it all matters, talent, injuries, luck, coaching and on and on. The margins are thin and one key injury can derail a season for most teams. KC is one of the few truly dominant teams out there. Coaching has something to do with it, but their talent level is also undeniable.
Having a big WR like Adams to throw it up to would help with our offensive line struggles. On a team devoid of playmakers last night, Carr had some moments where he made some throws, that guys couldn't and needed to come down with. You've got Olave bouncing up and down for 5 seconds waiting for the snap and drawing a penalty. you got Mason Tipton having a ball slip right through his hands, you've got Shaheed failing to come back to an underthrown ball to draw a PI.
There was a lot of offensive ineptitude and yet in a scheme thats designed for the QB to make some plays w/ his legs when the play breaks down, it's frustrating that Carr doesn't take open running lanes and make a play or two.
Yes the pocket broke down aroud him a few times, that's to be expected w/ the # of backups playing on the interior. Find a damn escape path and pick up 3-4 yards, especially on a day where your Running game is gettting smashed after 2ypc.
Adams would absolutely help. FB is a game of inches, longer taller WR's can get to passes easier. Just when I was ready to say Olave turned a corner he fails to reel in the pass from Haener at the end of the gameHaving a big WR like Adams to throw it up to would help with our offensive line struggles.
As for Carr, with only 12 scrambles in the past 22 games, I don't see him changing much any time soon. By comparison, Purdy (from a similar offense) has 32 scrambles in 21 games, and this year he is currently tied with Josh Allen for 4th on total scramble attempts.
I, man....after his 2nd or 3rd throw I looked over at my girl and said "He scared" I swear I thought it was just me, but yeah. The bone headed decisions, that's 2 weeks in a row he calls a throw stupid, and yet you're making it.lets not glaze over the fact that Carr seemed terrified for the first quarter. Maybe his fault, but its clear that they had no offensive confidence heading into the game. It was razor thin and the D knew it. Because that pick told the Defense, "we got nothing, its all on you" Sadly, that's the message but the message was a lie that they believed. A lie? Yea, because we were able to battle back and make sort of a game of it.
Honestly, I think sitting is best for his development but I've noticed that Caleb Williams has improved as he's played. You worry about a young QB's headspace if he comes out and doesn't perform well, or the speed of the game is too fast. In a perfect world I'd rather see him later in the season, week 16/17 depending on how things go. However, he should be getting #2 snaps. So what do you think is best for Rattler's development? If Carr is hurt should they start him or would it be better to let him sit the rest of the year to work on the mental part of his game?
I tend to think it would be better to let him sit and keep the pressure off of him to be the savior, but I also see some advantages in giving him live snaps since in the end the way to learn to play QB in the NFL is to play QB in the NFL. But, if he's not ready it could retard his progress.
At the same point I think Haener has a lot of the mobility that you are looking for in this scheme. He obviously doesn't have Rattler's arm, not many do, but I think he has a good arm that is plenty good enough to play in this scheme. And he has the speed/quickness to move around in the pocket and take the rushing yards when they are there. Not sure he is ready to read coverages or face the blitz, but I think this scheme does a good job in simplifying reads for young QBs.
Yes, he can help, but it's not a need and will not improve our current online mess.Adams would absolutely help. FB is a game of inches, longer taller WR's can get to passes easier. Just when I was ready to say Olave turned a corner he fails to reel in the pass from Haener at the end of the game
yea, he was straight up terrified is what I said. However, he was more terrified than the actual situation presented. Fault? Nah, Carr is a tough dude, he's earned a ton of peoples confidence from around the league. It just tells me he had no confidence going into the game and it falls on the Oline injuries and THILL being out. (Hill being in the game alone adds a few extra seconds of pocket time). You have a different Carr when hes got the pieces.I, man....after his 2nd or 3rd throw I looked over at my girl and said "He scared" I swear I thought it was just me, but yeah. Yeah, as i mentioned in another thread. The offense didn't look like the offense they've been running. It's like they tried to morph for this game (same thing w/ defense playing heavy zone) and it didn't work out. They aren't talented enough to change up week to week, in moments or games like that I'd rather us just go out and be who we are if you get beat you know it was mono e mono.yea, he was straight up terrified is what I said. agree 100%. All I can picture is a KC TE running free over the middle and the closest player is TM 5 yards behind him. The "bend and dont break D" works on the scoreboard, but its freaking demoralizing to watch. lolYeah, as i mentioned in another thread. The offense didn't look like the offense they've been running. Instead we tried to be a team we're not on both sides of the ball and got our butts whipped anyway.
I'd argue that it's two weeks in a row that he wasn't even given enough time to throw the ball away properly. He was trying to not take sacks and not get intentional grounding calls that would hurt the team, which we would also judge him for. Both of those were better options than interceptions in hindsight, but Carr knows it's better to throw the ball away in a way that doesn't draw a flag or get behind the chains on a sack. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. If the ball had sailed over Adebo last night, we'd have no problem with it. Same with last week, if it had slipped past Judon and landed at Olaves feet, nobody would mention it at all.I, man....after his 2nd or 3rd throw I looked over at my girl and said "He scared" I swear I thought it was just me, but yeah. Super Bowl window is what was being referred to, that was my response.I'm not even sure what this nebulous "window is shut" is referring to. What window? And how exactly is it shut? I get your point but not why I’m there. I’m a huge Jets fan and always have been. lolI follow their board too. They have the most clever comments. But the big picture is this: you know that Drew and Sean are gone when you start engaging with Raider fans and visit the jets boards. I wouldn’t be caught dead there when DB was Qb. Kidding not kidding
