Most expected the New Orleans Saints to address the wide receiver position in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Saints came into the offseason with a talented trio of wideouts in Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and A.T. Perry. However, they had no other depth at depth at the position. Even with the free-agent additions of Cedrick Wilson and Equanimeous St. Brown, most thought the Saints would draft a receiver after the unceremonious split with Michael Thomas.

New Orleans did indeed select a wideout, but not until midway through Day 3 of the draft. That pick was former Louisiana Tech Bulldog and Pitt Panthers WR Jerrod ''Bub'' Means at the 35th choice in the fifth round and 170th overall selection.

Here's a closer look at what the newest New Orleans Saints wideout brings to the table.

Bub Means, WR - Pitt


Bub Means began his collegiate career at Tennessee but transferred after redshirting in 2019. After sitting out the 2020 campaign at Louisiana Tech, he'd catch 22 passes for 430 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs in 2021 before transferring again. ...

The New Orleans Saints are signing a one-year deal with former Detroit Lions defensive back Will Harris.

Given his versatility in the defensive backfield, Harris adds an interesting element to the Saints’ secondary. He was drafted out of Boston College as a safety but has been used as both a safety and corner in Detroit. He was also a valued member of multiple Lions’ special teams units.

METAIRIE, La. — NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo posted on social media Wednesday that a source says the New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with former Detroit Lions defensive back Will Harris.

According to Garafolo, the 2019 third-round pick out of Boston College signed a one-year deal with the Saints after five seasons with the Lions.

The New Orleans Saints have recently signed South Dakota State linebacker Isaiah Stalbird as an un-drafted free agent. He’s one of 15 UDFA’s the Saints have signed.

Stalbird hasn’t always played linebacker and didn’t spend his whole college career with the jackrabbits. The Kearney, Nebraska native originally went to the University of Nebraska for two years as a safety. He would transfer to SDSU following the 2019 season. Stalbird would switch positions partway through the 2021 season. On top of all that, he’s very experienced with special teams.

The New Orleans Saints agreed to terms with former Detroit Lions safety Will Harris, adding more experience to their secondary. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that it’s a one-year deal.

Harris, 28, studied at Boston College before being selected by the Lions inn the third round of the 2019 NFL draft. He’s spent the last five years in Detroit while starting 40 of 81 games (plus three playoff games). He was credited with 93 combined tackles in 2021, a personal-best.

Jackson is from Oakland, CA and attended San Leandro High School. Out of high school, Jackson competed at the College of San Mateo where he would spend two seasons. During his time there, he would be awarded First Team All-State as a receiver and a returner and lead his team to the CCCAA Northern California Football Conference Championship. The New Orleans Saints made some popular picks in the 2024 draft. ESPN ranked three of them among this year’s 100 best selections, starting with first-round right tackle Taliese Fuaga. Here’s why ESPN’s Matt Miller argues Fuaga was the 24th-best pick out of the 257 selections in this year’s draft:

Look ahead a few months and we can guess what New Orleans Saints fans will be asking: why hasn’t Kool-Aid McKinstry signed his contract? Recent collective bargaining agreements between the NFL and the players union has streamlined negotiations on rookie contracts, so there aren’t many points of conflict remaining. The New Orleans Saints have signed UDFA S Millard Bradford.

Bradford is from Helotes, TX and attended O’Connor High School after transferring from Fork Union Military Academy. Bradford was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and was regarded as the No. 54 safety prospect in the country. He would then go on to TCU where he’d spend five years with the Horned Frogs. Over his last three seasons, Bradford became an extremely consistent player at the position amassing over 160 tackles, 15 pass deflections, 4 interceptions and 2 scores.
