Saints connected to LA Tech pass rusher Jaylon Ferguson

The New Orleans Saints will meet up with Louisiana Tech defensive end Jaylon Ferguson and put him through a workout ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft, per Sean Fazende of FOX8 New Orleans. Ferguson has been a force for the Bulldogs ever since he stepped on campus in 2015, eventually breaking Terrell Suggs’ NCAA record with 45 sacks in his four-year career. Ferguson was also wildly productive against the run, recording 67.5 tackles for loss of yards.
Per Pro Football Focus charting, Ferguson recorded the fifth-most quarterback pressures among FBS pass rushers last year, with 64 — including 16 sacks. And he accomplished that with 100 fewer attempts than other players in the top five. His 13.1 pass-rush productivity rating, measuring his effectiveness on a per-snap basis, was second-best in the entire draft class. Ferguson can play.

The New Orleans Saints have solidified a new hire to the special teams staff. According to Nick Underhill, the Saints have brought on Kyle Wilber as the new assistant special teams coordinator.
Wilber, 35, comes to New Orleans after two seasons as the Green Bay Packers’ special teams quality control coach. He spent most of his playing career with the Dallas Cowboys, where he was a teammate of new Saints head coach Kellen Moore. One commonality on Kellen Moore’s coaching staff has been familiarity. You saw that with his connection to most of the coaches he hired on the offensive side of the ball. Last week, the New Orleans Saints hired Brandon Staley as their next defensive coordinator and now the team can focus on filling out the rest of the defensive staff before the NFL Combine.
