Make no mistake, Taysom Hill has to feel pretty good going into the 2018 season. He will undoubtedly have to beat out Tom Savage to win the backup job. Also, with the acquisition of J.T. Barrett, it’s likely to be a battle for that backup position. Nevertheless, Hill has the coaches’ eyes and some experience being with the team for a solid year.

The fact that the Saints didn’t select a quarterback, has to instill some confidence in Hill. Surely, Who Dat Nation was salivating in round one, when the Saints traded up to move to the 14th overall pick. The thought was that the Saints were going to pick a quarterback. That’s the usual scenario when a team moves up and gives up a couple of draft picks.

Disaster struck the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night when the Denver Broncos came to town, and their old head coach Sean Payton left no doubt who needed who after his offense climbed up to a 26-3 lead. But that’s not all. The injury bug came back with a vengeance.

First, starting cornerback Paulson Adebo left the field on a trainer’s cart with a vacuum splint immobilizing his right leg. He was quickly ruled out with a knee injury and taken by ambulance to a nearby medical center after having X-rays taken at the Caesars Superdome.

But two more starters went down in the second half...

Yeesh. Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman didn’t hold back on the Amazon Prime halftime show during “Thursday Night Football,” after watching the New Orleans Saints slump into a 16-3 deficit.

He particularly took aim at the Saints defense’s poor performance, going so far as to suggest the unit’s poor effort was because they wanted head coach Dennis Allen to be fired.

“I’m telling you, Tony, I’m confused, I’m vexed, I’m perplexed, I don’t get it. These are good players,” Sherman said. “They don’t want to tackle, they don’t want to make plays. … I don’t understand this, it seems like...

NEW ORLEANS — Saints cornerback Paulson Adebo was carted off the field with an air cast on his right leg during the second quarter of Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos.

Adebo waved to applauding fans as the cart took him from the field toward a tunnel leading to the Saints' locker room. Amazon Prime, which was streaming the game, did not show replays of the injury.

“Any time we don’t show you a replay, you know it’s serious,”...

New Orleans Saints starting cornerback Paulson Adebo suffered a brutal leg injury in the second quarter against the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. Safety Jordan Howden tackled Broncos running back Javonte Williams, and they collided with Adebo right on his upper leg when he crashed in to assist with the tackle.

Adebo was clearly in pain after the play and unable to get up. The medical staff brought a cart out for the cornerback, and he was fitted with a vacuum splint to stabilize his leg.
