ALLEN PARK -- Storm Norton, a former offensive tackle for the Detroit Lions, is signing with the New Orleans Saints, per his agency.

Norton spent the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. The 6-foot-7 offensive tackle carved out a role in California, starting 18 games in three seasons, including 15 at right tackle in 2021. Norton also previously played for the Minnesota Vikings, appearing in one game during his lone season there.

The 28-year-old broke into the league as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo with the Lions in 2017. He opened that year on the practice squad, then bounced between the roster, practice squad and free agency during his tenure. Norton has since appeared in 36 games, earning 18 starts while playing 1,473 offensive snaps and another 154 on special teams across four seasons.

You have to think this news hit New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis like a thunderbolt. It’s the New York Jets, not the Saints themselves, who are reported to be at the top of Aaron Glenn’s wish list.

The New York Post’s Brian Costello reports Glenn, the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator whose services are coveted by teams looking for a new head coach, would prefer to go back to the team that drafted him.

Costello wrote in a recent column that, “(Glenn) has told people the Jets are his first choice if he were to be offered a head coaching position.”

It’s not surprising...

The New Orleans Saints were eliminated from the playoffs a few weeks ago and coming off of one of their worst seasons in years.

For many fans, the 2025 NFL draft has been the only thing on their minds for a while. The good news is that they have a ton of draft capital to work with.

Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports recently compiled each draft pick that each team in the league has, and the Saints are tied for the sixth-most with eight selections.

The team with the most selections is the Jacksonville Jaguars with 10. The Minnesota Vikings have the fewest with three.

The final order is yet to be...

The New Orleans Saints are stepping into this head coaching search with an open-mind. This is likely one of the lessons the Saints front office learned from the last time they had to make a change at head coach. The move from Sean Payton to Dennis Allen was so clear that Payton gave his endorsement on his way out the door.

Mickey Loomis told reporters this week, “We’re open to anything. We talked a lot about where successful coaches come from.” Aaron Glenn, Joe Brady and soon to be Mike McCarthy highlight the list of candidates New Orleans has already interviewed or plan to sit down with...

The New Orleans Saints are one of six NFL teams still searching for their next head coach and it seems to be down to a couple of candidates.

With it being a few weeks into January and some initial interviews being done, or at least scheduled, ESPN’s Dan Graziano took a crack at how those searches will play out. For the Saints, he landed on Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.

Glenn has been one of the favorite to land the job since Dennis Allen was fired in the first place, so it at least makes sense. Here is what Graziano had to say about the potential hire:

The 52-year-old...

As the news hit that the Dallas Cowboys would not be bringing back head coach Mike McCarthy, many news outlets expected the New Orleans Saints to have immediate interest in the Super Bowl-winner. While the team is expected to meet with McCarthy early next week, NFL insider Josina Anderson reports the Saints are not expected to rush their process nor “elevate” him over their current options.

Interestingly, Anderson added that “Loomis’ son being a Cowboys employee was not the only cause for hesitation.” Alex Loomis has worked in the Dallas scouting department since 2009, having spent the...

There have been connections between the New Orleans Saints and Mike McCarthy. NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that while the Saints may talk to McCarthy, he isn’t expected to leap over the Saints top candidates.

Despite that stance, McCarthy still has an impact on the Saints and the rest of the NFL coaching cycle. He’s the one coach who could be snatched up quicker than Ben Johnson, Aaron Glenn or Joe Brady.

As it stands, there are six teams without a head coach: the Saints, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders.

The Cowboys aren’t...
