We’re guessing the next Super Bowl will follow that trend, and even though the game is months away you can already place your bet. Here’s a look at the most likely matchups for Super Bowl 53, according to Las Vegas oddsmakers.

We’ll discuss a pairing that would make fans in two football-crazy cities happy (page 8), plus one matchup Vegas loves that we really don’t think will happen (page 12).

Marshon Lattimore is on his way to the Washington Commanders after the New Orleans Saints cut a deal to trade the former four-time Pro Bowl cornerback. Was it worth it? What did they get back in the trade? Here’s what we know.

NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that the Saints packaged a fifth-round pick with Lattimore to get back picks in the third, fourth, and sixth rounds. ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed that the sixth rounder is the same pick New Orleans traded to Washington earlier this year, which they spent to acquire defensive tackle John Ridgeway III (plus a conditional seventh...

Darren Rizzi already expresses one thing he'd do differently than Dennis Allen

Darren Rizzi will make his head coaching debut this upcoming week against the Atlanta Falcons, but if his debut was against the Carolina Panthers, he would have done at least one thing differently.

The New Orleans Saints were faced with a fourth and one in the fourth quarter at their own 46. Dennis Allen tried to draw the Panthers offsides. When it didn’t work, the Saints took the delay of game to give Matthew Hayball more space for the kick.

Rizzi may be a special teams guy, but he would have kept Derek Carr and the offense out to go for it. Not only does Rizzi disagree with Allen’s...

James Hurst retired this offseason, but he saw the separation between Dennis Allen and the New Orleans Saints locker room last year. He even went as far as to say some players wondered if Mickey Loomis would fire Allen at the end of the 2023 season.

Hurst reflects on the aftermath of players going against Allen’s wishes to kneel the ball out against the Atlanta Falcons in the season finale. Hurst was among the crew that opted to get Jamaal Williams his first touchdown of the season. He admits they were wrong but players were disappointed Allen apologized to Arthur Smith instead of having...

The New Orleans Saints are trading cornerback Marshon Lattimore to the Washington Commanders, as first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and confirmed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The news comes just before Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, and Rapoport adds that the Saints are getting a “premium draft pick” back for the four-time Pro Bowler.

We’ll have to wait and see what that compensation entails, but for now Alontae Taylor and Kool-Aid McKinstry are the future at cornerback in New Orleans. Paulson Adebo is a free agent in March so the Saints could have two new starters outside for their...

Here’s some movement. CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reports that the Washington Commanders have “emerged as a real contender” in trade talks for New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore. The former four-time Pro Bowler has been at the center of negotiations with multiple teams before Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, but Washington may be best-positioned to cut a deal.

The Commanders own two picks in 2025’s third round, including a high choice coming back from the Miami Dolphins (which they got from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for wide receiver Jahan Dotson). If the Saints are...

After the embarrassing loss to the Carolina Panthers and the massive in-season firing of head coach Dennis Allen, the New Orleans Saints are seemingly at a low point right now. Whispers began last week that the Saints may become more willing to trade away some assets if they lost against the Panthers. That is exactly what happened, and now it is possible that some players could be moved by today’s deadline. Darren Rizzi was named the interim head coach just yesterday, so figuring out roster spots and who could be moved will need to happen fast.

It is important to note that the Saints...

The New Orleans Saints have hit a new low after an embarrassing loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon, officially extending their losing streak to seven consecutive games following an impressive 2-0 start to the season.

Quarterback Derek Carr struggled in his return to play after missing the past three games with an oblique injury, and the depleted secondary’s absences proved too much to overcome as Bryce Young looked sharp stepping back in as the starter for Carolina.

However, New Orleans appears to have finally reached its breaking point and no longer feels it can continue...

Alvin Kamara was one of the bright spots for the New Orleans Saints on Sunday as he usually is. Kamara ran 29 times for 155 yards and caught 6 passes for 60 yards. This was Kamara’s highest yardage output of the season, but unfortunately the performance was squandered as the rest of the Saints offense didn’t do much to help him. Kamara now sits just 11 yards behind Mark Ingram for the franchise career rushing record, a mark he will hit next week. Let’s hope he does it in a win.

The Saints had three double-digit play drives end in field goals on Sunday and also had three 3-and-outs. The...

Saints will add a new coach to their staff after promoting Darren Rizzi

New Orleans Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi announced the team is bringing in a new assistant coach. Marwan Maalouf will assist Phil Galiano in their special teams operations. Rizzi spoke on WWL Radio Monday afternoon to announce the hiring, which came mere hours after his promotion.

Galiano will likely take on many of the duties on special teams coordinating for the Saints, as he has been the assistant coach for them since 2019. However, adding in an additional coach to help out and let Rizzi build out his own staff a little bit is not a bad idea. Rizzi and Maalouf worked together...

Carr's return to the Saints' lineup horrendous as he loses his top target, the game and his coach

Derek Carr's return to New Orleans Saints' starting lineup couldn't have gone much worse.

He lost his top target to a concussion when his pass over the middle sailed on him. He lost to the worst team in the league and he became the first NFL quarterback to lose to 31 teams.

A day later, he lost his head coach.

These are not the Saints of Sean Payton and Drew Brees, to be sure. But Carr and Dennis Allen expeditiously raised hopes of parading another Lombardi Trophy down Bourbon Street when the Saints totaled 91 points in back-to-back blowouts of Carolina and Dallas to start the season...

The New Orleans Saints might be more open to trading off some pieces and preparing for the future after firing head coach Dennis Allen. Trade talks surrounding Marshon Lattimore are “warming up,” per NFL insider Josina Anderson. If Lattimore isn’t traded by Tuesday’s 3 p.m. CT deadline, he’ll be locked in with New Orleans until March.

Lattimore has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury lately, but before that he was at the center of trade speculation throughout the summer. The former four-time Pro Bowler and 2017 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year restructured his contract to make it...
