This year’s 2025 NFL Draft class is expected to have upwards of 20-30 draftable players at running back. A big name headlines them all in Boise State back Ashton Jeanty, but for teams that feel like the first-round price tag is a little too rich for their liking, the group offers a ton of high-impact players behind the Heisman finalist.

The New Orleans Saints would be wise to invest a pick at some point in this class. Behind starting running back Alvin Kamara, the Saints face many questions at the position. Last year’s late-season free agent signing Clyde Edwards-Helaire offers the most experience alongside Kamara, but behind them is a young room with some things left to prove.

Third-year back Kendre Miller has received a lot of criticism for his injury history and ball-carriers Jordan Mims and Xazavian Valladay haven’t seen a ton of opportunities to prove themselves just yet.

Going into free agency, the New Orleans Saints were set to lose some important players. Paulson Adebo and Chase Young led this group, and with a big transition happening on the Saints’ defense, somehow bringing back at least one of these players should be a goal of this team. The apparent issue is the cap space, and we have already seen that impact. CB Paulson Adebo is set to sign with the New York Giants, per Ian Rapoport

Losing Adebo will have a massive impact on this defense. With Kool-Aid Mckinstry on the outside and Alontae Taylor probably being moved back to slot corner, New Orleans...

The New Orleans Saints need to get to positive cap space by the start of the league year, which is this Wednesday. With moves expected to be made in free agency and the Saints already trading for former Patriots DT Davon Godchaux, more cap space needs to be opened up. The Saints can focus on only restructuring players expected to be on this roster for the next 2-3 years. Usually, this applies to the younger players, but one of the older veterans is the exception...

Bauer: Why Derek Carr’s restructure has upset the some of the Saints fanbase

On Saturday evening, the news broke that the New Orleans Saints decided to restructure quarterback Derek Carr’s contract. With this move, it will save the team up to $30 million but his cap hit in 2026 is expected to be around $69 million, according to Kat Terrell of ESPN.

Before the restructure, the Saints had the option to cut Carr this offseason, which would have resulted in a cap hit of around $50 million. Additionally, if Carr was designated as a post-June 1st release, the cap hit could have been spread over two years. This, however, wouldn't have left much room to sign many free...
