Most expected the New Orleans Saints to address the wide receiver position in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Saints came into the offseason with a talented trio of wideouts in Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and A.T. Perry. However, they had no other depth at depth at the position. Even with the free-agent additions of Cedrick Wilson and Equanimeous St. Brown, most thought the Saints would draft a receiver after the unceremonious split with Michael Thomas.

New Orleans did indeed select a wideout, but not until midway through Day 3 of the draft. That pick was former Louisiana Tech Bulldog and Pitt Panthers WR Jerrod ''Bub'' Means at the 35th choice in the fifth round and 170th overall selection.

Here's a closer look at what the newest New Orleans Saints wideout brings to the table.

Bub Means, WR - Pitt

Bub Means began his collegiate career at Tennessee but transferred after redshirting in 2019. After sitting out the 2020 campaign at Louisiana Tech, he'd catch 22 passes for 430 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs in 2021 before transferring again. ...

Stock Up, Stock Down from the Saints' 2024 draft haul

The New Orleans Saints are in better shape after the 2024 NFL draft than they were before it — which is the goal every team has in mind for the annual selection event. But while some players on the team are in better standing than they were a week earlier, others may now find themselves on shakier ground.

So whose stock is up after the 2024 draft? Which Saints players’ stock is down, and who might be feeling some pressure with training camp on the horizon? There are players who made the team last year that may be left on the outside looking in come September. That’s what we’re seeking to answer in our first offseason stock report:

CSC Poll Results: Which draft pick are you most excited about

In this week’s poll question we asked which draft pick by the New Orleans Saints, other than their first round pick, were you most excited about.

After 699 votes, Alabama CB Kool-Aid McKinstry won with 59.8% of the vote. McKinstry was a borderline 1st round prospect that the Saints got near the top of the 2nd round. He comes at a position that is in desperate need of depth, as the Saints have been unable to get through a whole season without a starting corner missing significant time over the last few seasons. With arguably the best name in the draft, Kool-Aid comes in with the potential...

Even after drafting a cornerback in the NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints went after another one in the free agent market.

Similarly to the last two second round picks the Saints have made, McKinstry may not sign his contract until training camp.

Dallin Holker was a talented tight end for Colorado State and now experts are eyeing he could make an early impact in the NFL.

We won’t have to wait long for the New Orleans Saints’ 2024 draft class to try out their new uniforms. The NFL announced practice dates for all 32 teams’ upcoming rookie minicamp, organized team activities, and mandatory minicamp sessions.

Here’s when the Saints will be next reporting for work:

Public access to these sessions is usually limited to a few practice dates in June, so stay tuned for official word on when fans will be invited to attend. Saints made a hefty investment in rookie free agent Dallin Holker

Don’t say the New Orleans Saints aren’t willing to spend big to get the players they covet. The Saints guaranteed $235,000 of their contract with rookie Dallin Holker, per ESPN’s Katherine Terrell, making the former Colorado State tight end their highest-paid undrafted free agent this year. The deal includes a $10,000 signing bonus. He’s essentially guaranteed a spot on the practice squad, but the expectation should be for him to make the 53-man roster outright.

So why is he such an appealing prospect? The raw numbers aside (Holker caught 64 passes for 766 yards last season, scoring 6...

Saints 53-man roster projection following 2024 NFL draft

The 2024 NFL draft is behind us and all eyes are turning to a busy slate of offseason workouts for the New Orleans Saints, all of which leads up to training camp, preseason, and a difficult round of roster cuts before the season starts in September. So which players on the team right now do you see making it to Week 1? How many were on the team last year? In our post-draft projections, just 36 of the 53 players on the opening-day roster a year ago are returning for 2024.

Some players are dealing with serious injuries. All-Pro Ryan Ramczyk’s career is in jeopardy and we aren’t going to assume he’ll make the 53-man roster in Week 1; linebacker Nephi Sewell is recovering from his own knee injury suffered in December, and both will probably start the season on one of the reserve lists.

There are still some tough decisions ahead. In this projection, we have the Saints moving on from one of their former first-round picks (Payton Turner) while also shaking up their kicking situation on special teams (swapping Matthew Hayball for Lou Hedley). We tried to stick close to the numbers the Saints took into Week 1 last year, but we made a few tweaks to represent the state of the roster as it currently stands. Here’s who made the cut:

The New Orleans Saints are signing a one-year deal with former Detroit Lions defensive back Will Harris.

Given his versatility in the defensive backfield, Harris adds an interesting element to the Saints’ secondary. He was drafted out of Boston College as a safety but has been used as both a safety and corner in Detroit. He was also a valued member of multiple Lions’ special teams units.

Harris has five years of NFL experience. Last season, Harris appeared in all 17 games for the Lions but only recorded 18 total tackles and one interception. However, in 2022, Harris recorded 57 total...

The New Orleans Saints have recently signed South Dakota State linebacker Isaiah Stalbird as an un-drafted free agent. He’s one of 15 UDFA’s the Saints have signed.

Stalbird hasn’t always played linebacker and didn’t spend his whole college career with the jackrabbits. The Kearney, Nebraska native originally went to the University of Nebraska for two years as a safety. He would transfer to SDSU following the 2019 season. Stalbird would switch positions partway through the 2021 season. On top of all that, he’s very experienced with special teams.

As a safety, he gathered 43 total tackles...
