The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with Chase Haslett to be their new tight ends coach per a report by NFLN’s Mike Garafolo.

Haslett will reunite with new Saints head coach Kellen Moore. The two previously worked together on the Dallas Cowboys staff from 2020-2022.

Chase’s father, Jim Haslett was the head coach of the Saints from 2000-2005.

In 2020, Haslett began his NFL coaching career in Dallas, as their offensive quality coach back. He was promoted to assistant tight ends coach in 2023, and served as their passing game coordinator last season.

Kellen Moore is now officially the new head coach of the New Orleans Saints, and although it is extremely exciting, some things need to be understood going into next season. Seeing immediate success in 2025 should not be expected, and really, the first year of a head coach’s tenure should be treated like a rookie year. Along with that, the quarterback position is currently set with Derek Carr leading while Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener acting as backups. Ben DiNucci was also re-signed from the 2024 practice squad. There is a chance that Moore, a former passer himself, could want to change the room up a bit to better fit his offense.

That could come either in cutting ties with Carr or bringing up a player that he has history with to sit as a backup and work mostly as a coach. Either way, he could just simply need to bring a quarterback in to compete.

Kellen Moore has only been on the job for a few days, but he’s already busy building his New Orleans Saints coaching staff. Moore chose to retain a respected position coach in Keith Williams, who works with the wide receivers, while also bringing back former Saints offensive line coach Brendan Nugent (who he worked with on the Los Angeles Chargers).
