Jonathan Williams signed with the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 14 last year. Then, for the next seven regular-season games and two playoff matchups, he was inactive.

It was a tough experience for the young running back, who has been passionate about playing football since growing up in Texas.

"It was hard on me, but it just gave me more motivation to come back in a better fashion," Williams said Monday (May 21).

In 2018, Williams should have a much better chance to earn a role in games. He'll have the entire offseason to impress coaches, and with Mark Ingram suspended for the first four games, Williams will be among the players who could step up to fill Ingram's void.

The New Orleans Saints’ passing attack has been heavily concentrated on three weapons: Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. That trio has been the recipients of 29 of Derek Carr’s 44 completions this year. That’s 65.9% of his completions. They also make up 81.9% of Carr’s yards.

They’ve been essentially the entire passing offense. Foster Moreau is the next most productive receiving threat, and he only has five catches. Juwan Johnson has been less existent in the offense than projected.

Carr explains why this has been the case. Carr kept the explanation simple. The Saints haven’t...

However, the Saints aren’t abandoning the idea of matching the jersey with the pants. Against the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans will don white on white. The 2-1 New Orleans Saints are preparing for an NFC South showdown with the 1-2 Atlanta Falcons. The Saints are coming off of a tough low-scoring 15-12 loss to the Philidelphia Eagles after being dominated in multiple facets of the game. Now, New Orleans will look to utilize these key matchups to get back in the win column.

Despite only allowing 15 points, the Saints' pass defense struggled against Philidelphia. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts put up 311 yards through the air with 120 yards coming from receivers and another large bulk coming from tight end Dallas Goedert, who burned the...

Derek Carr is in his second year with the New Orleans Saints, and he is fully aware of how the rivalry with the Atlanta Falcons expands beyond the team’s practice facility and into the city.

He was reminded of that this week at his son’s football practice. Carr came to the Saints with New Orleans native, and former Raiders teammate, Foster Moreau. The duo have a good relationship, and they coach Carr’s sons’ little league team together.

Carr shared a funny story about how the upcoming little league game was secondary to the Saints’ upcoming game with the Falcons: “Every parent and every...

Philadelphia Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson had a lot to say about the New Orleans Saints after the Week 3 game. This was to be expected. The Saints drafted Gardner-Johnson in 2019, and fans became accustomed to his propensity to talk trash.

After their victory, Gardner-Johnson called the Saints pretenders, but the biggest thing he did was criticize Khristian Boyd’s hit on DeVonta Smith, for which the rookie defensive tackle was fined. He called the play and the Saints, as a whole, dirty.

Dennis Allen denied that earlier this week. Funny enough, Gardner-Johnson had his own play that...

This week, Jamaal Williams downplayed his last-minute touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons in 2023’s regular season finale. Jameis Winston became the face of the moment when the New Orleans Saints ran up the score on their rivals, but Williams was the one who carried the ball into the end zone.

That was the last offensive play of the Saints’ season and resulted in Williams’ first and only touchdown of the year. Of course it was brought back up this week with the Falcons game coming up, but Williams doesn’t see it as a big deal. Atlanta fired head coach Arthur Smith and brought in...

The New Orleans Saints will hit the road for the second time this season and travel to Atlanta to play the “Dirty Birds” in Mercedes-Benz Stadium this Sunday.

The Saints defense is off to a hot start to the 2024 season, allowing just 14.7 points per game through three weeks. Say what you want about the final defensive drive last week where they let up that huge gain to Dallas Goedert when two defenders ran into each other, but that loss was not on the defense. They played their butts off for the entire game and held a good Eagles offense to 15 points while forcing multiple turnovers and...

NJ: In your opinion, how has QB Kirk Cousins looked in his return from season-ending Achilles surgery? Does he seem capable of leading Atlanta to the promised land? If not, how soon should first-round NFL Draft pick Michael Penix Jr. take over as the team’s starting QB?
