Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix and New Orleans Saints signal caller Spencer Rattler may have been selected 138 picks apart in the 2024 NFL Draft, but some scouts had the two ranked similarly, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

"Make no mistake, Rattler is not perceived as 138 picks worse than Bo Nix—some evaluators had him awfully close to the same tier as Nix," Fowler wrote.

Rattler fell to the fifth round in part because the Atlanta Falcons and Broncos, who were "extremely high" on the former South Carolina quarterback, already used top-12 picks on quarterbacks, Fowler noted.

Fowler reported that not all teams were bothered by Rattler's portrayal in the docuseries "QB1: Beyond the Lights," which highlighted his high school career. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport previously said Rattler's portrayal in the series made teams reluctant to draft him (h/t Awful Announcing.) ...

NFL analyst says Saints signed a top-10 undrafted free agent rookie class

There aren’t many teams that can match the New Orleans Saints’ success in recruiting, developing, and leaning on undrafted talent. Just in recent years we’ve seen former rookie free agents like Rashid Shaheed, J.T. Gray, Carl Granderson, Juwan Johnson, Deonte Harty and Wil Lutz earn starting jobs and even Pro Bowl recognition after not hearing their names called during the NFL draft.

And this year’s crop has a lot of potential, too. FantasyPros’ Thor Nystrom is one of the best at evaluating the draft each year, and you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who more thoroughly studies the...

Pro Football Network says safety is Saints' biggest remaining weakness

Which positions look weakest on the New Orleans Saints’ depth chart? There’s still time to add reinforcements before training camp and the start of the 2024 season, but their options are limited with the biggest free agent signings and the NFL draft behind us.

According to Pro Football Network’s Dakota Randall, the Saints’ biggest remaining weakness is safety. Here’s why:

It’s a little late to start planning for the future after the draft, and it’s not like the Saints haven’t signed anyone. They brought in veteran defensive back Will Harris while re-signing other experienced backups like...

The NFL is set to release the entire 2024 schedule in a few days on Thursday, May 9th. We know all the New Orleans Saints opponents for next year, but we don’t know when they’ll play each team, so today I’m going to pick out the five games that I think would make the best season opener for the Saints 2024 season.

Saints 2024 opponents:

Home: Falcons, Panthers, Buccaneers, Browns, Broncos, Raiders, Rams, Commanders, Eagles

Away: Falcons, Panthers, Buccaneers, Cowboys, Packers, Chiefs, Chargers, Giants

The game I’m going to start off with is the Saints traveling to Kansas City to take on...

Anonymous NFL executive comments on Spencer Rattler's 'image concerns'

Why did Spencer Rattler fall into the fifth round of this year’s NFL draft? The New Orleans Saints made a great value pick by selecting him at No. 150 overall, but he was projected to go much higher. Reporting during and after the draft cited character concerns and suggested Rattler’s less-than-flattering appearance on a Netflix documentary when he was in high school had rattled some teams.

But that’s a narrative many of Rattler’s supporters have worked to unravel, including his former coach at South Carolina, Shame Beamer. Whatever immaturity and arrogance that may have been perceived...

Why the Saints drafted them: Rounds 6 & 7

Rounds 6 and 7 of the NFL Draft are considered a time to get special team contributors. Instead, the New Orleans Saints drafted a defensive tackle who can contribute immediately and an offensive tackle prospect with fantastic potential.

Being this late of a draft pick brings a lack of expectations. This is a little different with defensive tackle Khristian Boyd. The Saints came into the NFL Draft with a significant need for a nose tackle. They needed a player who could stop the run and take double teams so Bryan Bresee could have a one-on-one. At 6-foot-4, 317 pounds, Boyd is the perfect...

Even after college, the Saints legend was told he wasn’t good enough. Check out this piece from Jeff Duncan and Gleason himself.

Projecting the Saints' starting defense following the 2024 NFL draft

Week 1 is months away, but there’s potential for change this summer. We’re projecting the New Orleans Saints’ starting defense following the 2024 NFL draft, having accounted for the team’s free agent pickups and rookie draft picks. The Saints also lost multiple backups and key rotation players in free agency like cornerback Isaac Yiadom, defensive tackle Malcolm Roach, and linebacker Zack Baun as well as starting safety Marcus Maye. Dennis Allen’s defense is going to look at least a little different.

So what’s different? What stayed the same? Here’s our take on which players could be introduced first when the Who Dat Nation gathers at the Caesars Superdome in September:
