Aaron Glenn is meeting with the New York Jets on Tuesday to interview for their open head coaching job, and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Jets’ goal is to not let him leave the building. It says enough that Glenn met with the Jets before flying in for a sit-down with the New Orleans Saints later this week. That the Jets are this determined to seal the deal suggests it could get done quickly, and the Saints could miss out on their top target without ever getting another chance to speak with him.

And the Jets have something they can offer Glenn that the Saints just can’t match: the...

The New Orleans Saints are going to get a second look at Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, who interviewed virtually with the team just over a week ago. He’s a highly coveted defensive mind with several key interviews lined up.

Weaver’s name rings a lot of bells but not just from his time in Miami. The Weaver name started to grow louder during his tenure with the Baltimore Ravens where he spent three seasons mostly working with the defensive line.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh spoke highly of Weaver during last years coaching cycle stating that teams will have...

The New Orleans Saints front office has begun their process of taking in-person interviews starting this week. One of the first candidates that will get their shot at a second interview will be New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, and formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Shortly after Kafka’s time in Kansas City, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid delivered some raving reviews about his former pass game coordinator a few years back. During the 2023 coaching cycle, Reid personally endorsed Kafka to Michael Bidwell owner of the Arizona Cardinals.

In his own words, Reid said that...

The New Orleans Saints were ready to start their round of in-person interviews, but weather has pushed their plans back to later this week, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

As things stood on Tuesday, Mike Kafka, Aaron Glenn and Anthony Weaver had scheduled interviews with New Orleans. Kafka was in line first for Tuesday, while Glenn and Weaver were scheduled for Wednesday. All of these have been pushed back due to the snow in New Orleans, but there’s no official date set yet.

This update doesn’t impact Mike McCarthy. His interview was already planned for later this week but without a...

While the New Orleans Saints are still searching for the franchise’s next head coach, the Chicago Bears have landed former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. After Detroit’s surprising departure from the playoffs, it was inevitable that Johnson would choose his next coaching destination. The Bears always seemed to be the leader for his signiture, but the Raiders were also in the mix. Now, with Ben Johnson hired as head coach, the next step is finding new coordinators, and two former Saints coaches seemed to be top options for the Bears. Per Adam Schefter, former Saints head...

The New Orleans Saints have all eyes on the future, which means it is time to start narrowing down who they should select in the 2025 NFL draft. It is a hard draft season to understand, though, because of just how many needs there are to fill.

One intriguing name that could be used in a number of different ways played his college football just a short ways over in Baton Rouge, LSU Tigers offensive lineman Will Campbell. He is currently projected to go around when the Saints come up on the clock for the first time at No. 9 overall, but does he make sense for New Orleans?

It is sort of...

Saints free agent preview: DE Chase Young, stay or go?

The New Orleans Saints and their cap space is a tale as old as time, and this year is no different, as they enter the offseason somewhere around $50 million over the salary cap. With that, they also have numerous free agents to attempt to re-sign, and only some will likely be brought back as others will have to walk. The decisions will need to be made in the near future, and while this is not particularly a huge free agent class for the Saints, there are still a few notable ones to cover.

This brings us to arguably the most notable of the list, which is defensive end Chase Young, who the...

The Chicago Bears hired former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson on Monday as their new head coach, and they have been busy trying to build out his new coaching staff. We may see a couple of former New Orleans Saints coaches within it.

It was already reported that Johnson’s top candidate for his defensive coordinator was former Saints head coach Dennis Allen. Now, ESPN’s Adam Schefter has shared that they are “heavily pursuing” New Orleans interim coach Darren Rizzi for their special teams opening. Rizzi is still searching for a full-time head coach gig, but it seems that...

The New Orleans Saints have been eliminated from the playoffs for some time now, but their overall order of picks in the 2025 NFL draft is still being shifted thanks to a trade made earlier this season.

When the Saints traded Marshon Lattimore to the Washington Commanders in the middle of the year, they received three draft picks in the third, fourth and sixth rounds. That sixth rounder was the same pick the Saints traded to Washington this summer for John Ridgeway III, so they got it back. Given that the Commanders keep winning games, those picks keep drifting further back in the draft...

Derek Carr salary: How much money did Saints QB make this season?

The New Orleans Saints offense struggled with injuries across the board this season, but one of the more impactful ones was franchise quarterback Derek Carr.

Carr’s tenure with the Saints has been off to an unfortunate start and him playing only 10 games this season did not help his case. Of course, his play being subpar when he is healthy probably hurts even more.

With the way his contract is structured, New Orleans is stuck with him for at least one more season. They will be entering the third year of his contract, though, with moving on becoming much more realistic after the season...
