For the second time in NFL history, the same four teams – Baltimore, Buffalo, Houston and Kansas City in the AFC – are representing a conference in the Divisional playoffs in consecutive seasons. In the NFC, Detroit is the only team to qualify for the Divisional round in each of the past two years, joined by the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia and Washington.

The New Orleans Saints search for a new head coach is full steam ahead and the latest name tied to the team is former Dallas Cowboys head coach, Mike McCarthy. According to reports, McCarthy is expected to meet with the team sometime early next week. Meanwhile, the team is continuing their process with interviews set up with Washington Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury, Philadelphia Eagles OC Kellen Moore and Buffalo Bills OC Joe Brady this Friday and Saturday. Detroit Lions DC Aaron Glenn and New York Giants OC Mike Kafka have already completed their virtual interviews last week.

NEW ORLEANS — Fresh off his split with the Dallas Cowboys, Mike McCarthy isn’t wasting time looking for his next NFL job. The veteran coach is set to meet with the Chicago Bears on Wednesday, and he’s expected to visit the New Orleans Saints early next week, according to the NFL Network.

The Chicago Bears beat the New Orleans Saints to the punch in scheduling a sit-down with former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Bears will interview McCarthy for their vacant head coach position on Wednesday, with his peer Ian Rapoport adding that the Saints plan on speaking with McCarthy themselves next week.

“No firm date established, but that is the plan,” Rapoport says. Multiple teams are said to be in the mix for the 61-year old coach once his Cowboys contract formally expires at midnight Tuesday.
