Broncos sign Latavius Murray off of the Saints practice squad

Exit Javonte Williams, enter Latavius Murray. The Denver Broncos are signing Murray off of the New Orleans Saints practice squad just a day after Murray scored a touchdown run with the team in London against the Minnesota Vikings, ironically the same team he once played for when Broncos general manager George Paton worked in their front office.

It’s hard not to look at this as a mistake — Murray brought more life to the Saints running game than we’ve seen all season, and he graded out as the best player on offense for New Orleans in Week 4. He had 11 carries for 57 yards against his old team, catching his only target to gain another 8 yards.

But the decision is easy to understand from Murray’s perspective. Once Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram II are fully healthy, he’ll be third at best on the depth chart. In Denver he shouldn’t need much time to assert himself with a backfield missing its leading rusher for the rest of the season. There will be greater opportunities for him to get on the field and make more money with the Broncos than with the Saints. ...

Shout to Taliese Fuaga — the New Orleans Saints left tackle was named the best rookie at his position by ESPN. Ben Solak shared his 2024 NFL All-Rookie team, and Fuaga won top honors on the first team.

You have to think this news hit New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis like a thunderbolt. It’s the New York Jets, not the Saints themselves, who are reported to be at the top of Aaron Glenn’s wish list.

The New York Post’s Brian Costello reports Glenn, the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator whose services are coveted by teams looking for a new head coach, would prefer to go back to the team that drafted him.

Costello wrote in a recent column that, “(Glenn) has told people the Jets are his first choice if he were to be offered a head coaching position.”

New Orleans Saints tied for sixth-most picks in 2025 NFL draft

The New Orleans Saints were eliminated from the playoffs a few weeks ago and coming off of one of their worst seasons in years.

For many fans, the 2025 NFL draft has been the only thing on their minds for a while. The good news is that they have a ton of draft capital to work with.

Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports recently compiled each draft pick that each team in the league has, and the Saints are tied for the sixth-most with eight selections.

The New Orleans Saints are one of six NFL teams still searching for their next head coach and it seems to be down to a couple of candidates.

There have been connections between the New Orleans Saints and Mike McCarthy. NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that while the Saints may talk to McCarthy, he isn’t expected to leap over the Saints top candidates.
