The New Orleans Saints are zigging when the rest of the NFL is zagging, at least on special teams. They’re committed to making the Australian style of punting work in the NFL. After signing and starting former Miami punter Lou Hedley (a Mandurah, Australia native) last year, they’ve brought in Vanderbilt punter Matthew Hayball (from Geelong, Australia) to compete with him.

The New Orleans Saints have signed UDFA DE Trajan Jeffcoat.

Jeffcoat is from Columbia, SC and attended Irmo High School where both ESPN and Rivals rated him as a three-star prospect DE. He played for four years at Missouri before transferring to Arkansas. In 2023, he logged 16 tackles with 8.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks with the Razorbacks.

At the NFL Combine, Jeffcoat measured 6’4”, 266 lbs. and ran a 4.69.

The New Orleans Saints aren’t finished signing rookie free agents after the 2024 NFL draft. They’ve added former Arkansas and Missouri defensive end Trajan Jeffcoat, as first reported by NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill.

Kyle Sheets, wide receiver from Slippery Rock University, has signed a UDFA deal with the New Orleans Saints.
