The New Orleans Saints are reportedly a team that is in hot pursuit of Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. Be it in a trade or possibly if he soon hits the NFL free-agent market.

After eight seasons and 16 games, the Raiders decided in December that the Derek Carr era in their organization had officially come to an end. The decision was made after the team underperformed on offense in 2022-2023, after being a key element in their 10-win showing the previous season.

Despite the offensive reputation of new head coach Josh McDaniels, his style ended up not being a good fit for the skillset of the four-time Pro Bowl QB. While the 31-year-old is no longer welcome in Las Vegas, there are still expected to be quite a few suitors for Carr’s services around the NFL.

Spencer Rattler is back at home in Scottsdale, Ariz. training with Mike Giovando, a personal quarterbacks coach with the Elev8 Quarterback Academy. He was joined by University of Washington quarterback Will Rogers at the Banner Sports Medicine High Performance Center for a day’s work.

Giovando shared a few video clips of the New Orleans Saints quarterback staying sharp as the offseason begins, demonstrating a mixture of footwork drills and throwing sessions.

One thing that was noteworthy is most of the throws were deep outbreaking routes that showcased Rattler’s arm strength.

The Caesars Superdome used to be a place opposing teams dreaded to visit. The fast-paced New Orleans Saints offense was tough to slow down on their turf in front of their loud fans and under their bright lights. Unfortunately, things aren’t what they used to be.

Including the playoffs, the Saints won 8 home games in a row in 2017 and 7 consecutive in 2018. They were undefeated at home in 2012, winning all 9 games at the Caesars Superdome (again, including the playoffs). That dominance built a perception that the Superdome crowd was too much for visiting teams to handle — too loud, too...

In his introductory press conference, New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore stated that he will be calling plays. This takes some importance out of the OC search, but getting the correct hire will still be extremely important for the team. The search came down to Philadelphia Eagles RB coach/assistant head coach Jemal Singleton, Miami Dolphins WR coach Robert Prince, and Eagles QB coach Doug Nussmeier. Even before the Saints hired their head coach, it was believed that if Kellen Moore were the guy, Nussmeier would be the favorite for OC.

Today, per Nick Underhill, the Saints have...

There it is. NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill reports what we’ve expected would be the case — the Saints are hiring Doug Nussmeier to become Kellen Moore’s offensive coordinator in 2025.

Nussmeier, 54, has worked with Moore as a quarterbacks coach every step of the way through his NFL journey. They were together on the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, and this year’s Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles team.

But Moore will continue to call plays after becoming the Saints’ head coach, so what will Nussmeier be responsible for? Expect him to spend a lot of time supervising the...

The New Orleans Saints offensive staff is almost complete, and this group has some trends. There is an evident youth movement with this offensive staff, and most of the coaches are connected to Kellen Moore’s previous teams. Something notable is that head coach Kellen Moore, soon to be expected offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier, and quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzien are all former NFL quarterbacks. Also, both Moore and Nussmeier were former QB coaches. This coaching staff focuses on QB development, which may be a hint for important decisions in the offseason.

The NFL offseason is here, and free agency follows closely behind as it is only a month away approximately. With that, we have some time to take a look back at the 2024 offseason for the New Orleans Saints and grade some of their signings and departures based on whether or not they were good decisions.

One of the Saints’ few signings last offseason was defensive back Will Harris, who left the Detroit Lions in search of a new team, and ended up landing with New Orleans. Here is how his 2024 season went, how the contract panned out, and a grade for the signing:
