After an October worthy of a horror movie, the Saints look to overcome a nightmare recent history to right their season

Like a tainted apple, candy corn, or yet another Halloween or Friday the 13th remake, the New Orleans Saints have ruined Halloween. Unlike the ghouls, ghosts, and spooky monsters of the season, these Saints have created their own tricks and terrors.

New Orleans came out of the gate stronger than even their most die-hard supporters could have imagined. They demolished the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys by a combined score of 91-29 to start 2-0. As the fall leaves started to turn, so did the fortunes of the team.

Late fourth quarter miscues cost the Saints two winnable games in the final minute against Philadelphia and Atlanta. Those losses dropped the Saints to 2-2 to close out September. A turn of the calendar to October brought even more troubles for the Saints. ...

The interview process is vital to understanding how these prospects think and if they can make it in the NFL. The New Orleans Saints will do their due diligence throughout the combine week, and although the team has hinted at Derek Carr being the starter in 2025, QB still needs to be looked at going into the draft. One of these quarterbacks the team could target, Miami's Cam Ward, is considered the far and away top QB in the draft. It is likely Ward gets selected before pick 9, but per Nick Underhill, the Saints still met with him yesterday at the NFL Combine.

Per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football, the New Orleans Saints had a formal meeting with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Sanders, son of Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, is one of the top QB prospects of this draft cycle. In the past two seasons at Colorado, he has amassed 7,362 passing yards, 64 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. The best game for Sanders would come in 2023, in a game against the Colorado State Rams, where he completed 38/47 passes for 347 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.
