The New Orleans Saints are hosting standout LSU Tigers tight end Mason Taylor for a visit.

Taylor played three seasons in college, totaling 1,308 yards receiving and 6 touchdowns. The 6-foot-5 tight end appeared on radars during his freshman season with a game-winning reception against the Alabama Crimson Tide in an overtime win.

While the former Tigers tight end opted not to participate in the 40-yard dash and bench press at the NFL Combine, he made up for it at his pro day. He ran a 4.65 40-yard dash and boasted 28 bench press reps—both of which would've ranked second among the tight ends that performed at the combine.

Taylor's remarkable combination of size and speed makes him a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. At 6-foot-5, he is too big for defensive backs to cover effectively and too fast for opposing linebackers to keep up with. During his final season in college, Taylor would have his best performing season yet, bringing in 55 receptions for 546 yards and 2 touchdowns. ...

The New Orleans Saints are hosting Texas A&M defensive lineman Shemar Turner on a top-30 visit, per Nick Underhill.

Turner played four seasons with the Aggies, totaling 10 sacks and 24 TFLs in 43 games. The 6-foot-3 defensive lineman had his best season as a junior, sacking the quarterback 6 times and forcing 2 fumbles.

Turner offers position flexibility. The 290-pound defensive lineman played defensive end before transitioning to defensive tackle. Turner’s combination of speed and power allows him to be a liable pass rusher from the inside, while his size helps him maintain ball...

Saints position group season review: Defensive Line

  • News source: Hayden Reel

The New Orleans Saints defense ranked 30th in the NFL last season in yards allowed and 19th in scoring. The defensive line only had three players get more than 5 sacks, and none who got over 7.5, which is why the position group is seen by many as the Saints biggest need going into the upcoming NFL Draft.

The Saints had very little turn over on the defensive line this offseason, as Chase Young was re-signed to a three-year contract, and Cam Jordan announced that he is coming back for another year. On top of these moves, defensive tackles Nathan Shepherd and Khalen Saunders both survived...
