It’s a shame Ryan Ramczyk’s career ended this way. The New Orleans Saints’ former All-Pro right tackle effectively signed his retirement papers this week, having missed the entire 2024 season with a chronic knee injury. This was expected even if it’s unpleasant at best.

Per Over The Cap’s Jason Fitzgerald, Ramczyk agreed to waive his $18 million base salary for 2025 while reducing it to the league minimum, which saved the Saints a little more than $16.7 million against the salary cap. He’ll remain on the roster until June 2 with a cap hit of $12.3 million (instead of $29 million before...

Ryan Ramczyk agreed to cut his 2025 salary this week, which sets him up for retirement. But how does it set up the New Orleans Saints and the salary cap? Let’s break it down.

To start, Ramczyk agreed to waive his $18 million base salary for the 2025 season in exchange for the veteran’s minimum at $1,255,000. Because he’s being forced into a medical retirement, he isn’t getting that money either way, but doing it like this gives the Saints immediate savings of about $16.7 million.

That left Ramczyk with a $12.3 million cap hit, and it puts the Saints at roughly $326 million in cap...

The New Orleans Saints season had officially come to an end. One of the worst seasons in recent memory that many will look to forget in the coming years. Injury after injury, the firing of a head coach and a fan base in uproar, the only thing that fans could tip their hat to is the play of their young guys.

Contrary to an initial report from FOX Sports insider Jordan Schultz, the New Orleans Saints have not requested a head coach interview with Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach Davis Webb. That report was shot down by NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

So why all the fuss about Webb? Just 29 years old, he first played college football behind Baker Mayfield at Texas Tech before transferring to the California Golden Bears once Patrick Mahomes arrived on campus. Webb spent all seven seasons of NFL career in the state of New York, all with either the Giants...

New Orleans Saints S J.T. Gray was named to Pro Football Focus’ 2024 NFL All-Pro Team.

When the Saints signed a once-overlooked UDFA defensive back out of Mississippi State in 2018, I doubt they realized the hidden gem they had found. Gray has been one of the few bright spots in New Orleans over the past couple of seasons and has solidified himself as one of the best gunners in all of football.

The two-time All-Pro and one-time Pro Bowler finished his seventh professional campaign with a 91.3 overall PFF grade, while his 14 special teams tackles were tied for the most in the league.

The New Orleans Saints are in the deep end of the head coaching market, with multiple candidates named and multiple interviews planned. One of the most prominent names linked to the Saints at this moment is Detroit Lions defensive coordinator/former Saints defensive backs coach and player Aaron Glenn. With another former Saints staffer Dan Campbell running things in Detroit, he had exceptionally high praise for Glenn in his post-regular season media availability, stating:

“Aaron Glenn is as good a coach as you’re gonna find, he’s an even better human being,” Campbell began. “Look if...

If Saints choose to hire from within, Drew Brees has his pick for head coach

The New Orleans Saints are one of just many teams who enter a search for their next head coach as they begin the 2025 offseason.

Saints legend Drew Brees named former Saints defensive backs coach Aaron Glenn as his current top choice for the head coaching position when I asked him who his personal top candidate was this week.

But Brees also mentioned how many times the Saints have chosen to hire internally. That would not be entirely out of the picture in his eyes, and he says that if he had to choose one person from within the organization in which to promote, he would give the job to...

Aaron Glenn has been called the perfect fit for the New Orleans Saints head coach search. It’s a common choice that lines up logically given his qualifications and history with the team. But Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay takes a different route for his perfect marriage of team and candidate.

Kay paired Glenn with the Jacksonville Jaguars and said the Saints’ best option is Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator, Joe Brady:

Brady started his professional career as an assistant with the Saints, and built his much of his reputation in one year at LSU with Joe Burrow. He turned that into being the...
