NFL Draft coverage is beginning to ramp up as football season draws closer. There's still a long way to go between now and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game. However, there's plenty of excitement to be had along the way as we develop a better idea of what each roster will look like in Week 1. One of these excitements is the release of win total odds, specifically those of the NFC South.

The NFC South has been turned on its head in recent years. Star signal-callers such as Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Cam Newton and Matt Ryan are all gone now. They've left behind a division that's quarterback-deficient for the first time in decades. The New Orleans Saints seemingly have the best of the bunch (as of late March), though, with their star offseason acquisition, Derek Carr.

It would appear that Carr still has quite a few friends in Las Vegas. His new team is being given a win total of 9.5 by oddsmakers, up from 7.5 wins at this point last offseason.

Jahri Evans has gotten one step closer to the Pro Football Hall of Fame every year he’s been eligible. The longtime New Orleans Saints right guard and Super Bowl XLIV champion has progressed from the semifinalist stage in 2023, his first year of eligibility, to the finalist level in 2024, his second. Will he finally get the call he’s been waiting for in Year 3?

There’s obviously support for Evans among voters. It helps that he was inducted to the Saints’ Ring of Honor this season, an exclusive group formed by several all-time greats already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: Rickey...

Whether it’s his level of play, his attitude and demeanor, or his ill-advised comments to the media, a lot of people have a bone to pick with him. The New Orleans Saints coaching staff has been undergoing lots of change during this offseason, with the arrival of their new head coach expected to bring more turnover. We’ve seen much of the team’s offensive staff find new destinations in the last couple of weeks with an offensive-minded head coach likely on the horizon in Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore

On the other hand, the defensive staff has experienced much less turnover since season’s end with the only notable name being linebackers coach Mike Hodges leaving for a job with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The New Orleans Saints have drawn a lot of ire over the years for their stubborn resistance to rebuilding their team. They’ve continued to push money into future years and max out their salary cap resources to try and compete. Now, depending on where you look (and ultimately depending on where the NFL sets this year’s spending limit), the Saints are in the hole by $54 million to $72 million.

But now it’s gotten to a point where they can’t ignore the inevitable. After struggling to keep their heads above water in a series of 9-8, 7-10, and 9-8 seasons after Drew Brees retired, they...
