Four members of the Saints’ loaded 2017 draft class remain on the team, though only Alvin Kamara is locked up beyond this season. The Saints have Marshon Lattimore, Ryan Ramczyk and Marcus Williams signed this year, via the fifth-year option and the franchise tag.

New Orleans has until July 15 to extend Williams this year but holds uninterrupted negotiating rights with Ramczyk and Lattimore until next year’s legal tampering period. As of now, the Saints’ extension queue looks to have Ramczyk at the top. The standout right tackle is the team’s top priority to retain long-term, Jeff Duncan of The Athletic notes (subscription required).

Demario Davis has been an ageless wonder for the New Orleans Saints, but nothing lasts forever.

For the first time since 2018, Demario Davis has failed to be named a first- or second-team All-Pro. Outside of J.T. Gray, who made second-team All-Pro, Davis and rookie punter Matthew Hayball were the only Saints to get any All-Pro votes. Two voters put Davis on their first team.

Davis came to the New Orleans Saints from the New York Jets at 29 years old, with no Pro Bowl or All-Pro teams under his belt. When the calendar hit on his 30th birthday, Davis shifted gears into a different mode...

Credit where it’s due: The New Orleans Saints aren’t ranked last in unspent salary cap space carried over into 2025. Hang the banner and hand the microphone to Mickey Loomis so he can address the crowd.

Jokes aside, the Saints are going to need every penny they can get their mitts on to reach cap compliance this offseason. NFL Players Association records revealed that the Saints are rolling over $2,929,173 from their 2024 books and into the new league year. The experts at Over The Cap rank that eighth-lowest around the league, which, yes — is better than last.

Of the seven teams ranked...

New Orleans Saints defensive back J.T. Gray has been selected to the AP All-Pro Team (second-team) on special teams. This marks the 8th consecutive season that the Saints have had at least one All-Pro selection.

Gray was signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State back in 2018. This is the 3rd time that the Clarksdale, Miss. native is an All-Pro selection, having previously earned first-team honors in 2021 and second-team in 2019. Voted by his teammates as one of the team’s special teams captains for the fourth consecutive season, Gray appeared in all 17 games...

Drew Brees and Rob Gronkowski’s playing days are behind them, but they’re doing big things off the field. And they are doing it together. Both players have partnered with Bounty paper towels ahead of this year’s Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome, and I caught up with them earlier this week.

“I’m a Bounty man, I’ve been with them for about three years now and I’m fired up to be once again,” Gronkowski told me. “Every year I have a wingman. Last year, it was Julian Edelman, who was my teammate on the New England Patriots for nine years.”

Partnering with Brees especially appealed to...

New Orleans Saints captains J.T. Gray and Demario Davis have become overly familiar with inconsistent recognition at the national level. Gray was snubbed from the Pro Bowl, but he was announced as a member of this year’s Associated Press All-Pro team. Gray earned a place on the All-Pro second team.

The same thing happened to Davis his first three years in New Orleans. The linebacker was a first-team All Pro in 2019 and second-team All Pro in 2020 and 2021. In none of these seasons did he make the Pro Bowl.

For Gray, this is the second time he’s made All-Pro without making it to the Pro...

Two former Saints defenders make first-team All-Pro

The Associated Press All-Pro team released Friday morning. Special teams ace J.T. Gray was the only New Orleans Saints player to make either first or second team. There are two former Saints defenders, however, who made first-team All Pro.

Zack Baun earned this honor in his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles, and Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson made his first All-Pro after years of consistently producing high sack numbers.

What makes Baun’s rapid ascension so interesting is he isn’t taking the route many thought he would take after leaving New Orleans. The belief...

The New Orleans Saints announced Friday morning that they have completed an interview with Aaron Glenn, one of the top head coach targets in this year’s cycle. Glenn scheduled five interviews with five different teams within a 48-hour window, including the Saints, so he’s been a very busy man. But why is the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator so sought-after?

Glenn lost the NFL’s best pass rusher in the opening weeks of the season when Aidan Hutchinson suffered a broken leg, and the hits kept coming as other starting defensive linemen, linebackers, safeties and cornerbacks were eroded...
