Just like last season, the Saints have a favorable strength of schedule going into the new league year. They're tied with the Falcons for the easiest one, with opponents coming in at 131-158 (.453). Naturally, this doesn't mean much, as last year was a perfect example of it. Teams typically improve in the offseason, and New Orleans saw plenty of that firsthand. The Saints have been on the opposite side of the coin with a Top-3 tough schedule (2013, 2018) and came out fine, so while it's a stat, it's not always one that means much.

The Saints face seven playoff teams from 2024, which include the Chiefs, Browns, Rams, Eagles, Packers, Cowboys and Bucs. New Orleans has a second place schedule based off their finish last season. They'll face five new head coaches this year too: Jim Harbaugh (Chargers), Antonio Pierce (Raiders), Dave Canales (Panthers), Dan Quinn (Commanders) and Raheem Morris (Falcons). ...

In this week’s CSC poll, we asked readers who they would most like to see the New Orleans Saints open the 2024 season against:

After 240 votes, it was the Denver Broncos, earning 50% of the vote. The game against the Broncos will mark Sean Payton’s return to the Superdome after retiring as head coach of the Saints after the 2021 season. This will be Payton’s second season as coach of the Broncos after an underwhelming 2023 season. The Broncos are hoping #12 overall pick Bo Nix is their quarterback of the future, but come Week 1, I would be surprised if he is the starter and not Zach...

5 free agent offensive linemen for Saints after losing Andrus Peat

The New Orleans Saints entered this offseason with the expectation of finding a starting-caliber offensive tackle to at least compete with former first-round pick Trevor Penning. However, as the offseason progressed the Saints found themselves in a deeper hole than initially thought. Former All-Pro tackle Ryan Ramczyk is on the brink of retirement while dealing with a degenerative knee. The team also was hit with the retirement of offensive lineman James Hurst, who started a total of 51 games in his four seasons with the Saints.

The team did patch at least one of these holes in selecting right tackle Taliese Fuaga in Round 1 of the NFL draft but there is still room to add help along this front five. Whether they want to admit it or not,

Can A.T. Perry fill Michael Thomas’ role

The New Orleans Saints parted ways with veteran wide receiver Michael Thomas during the 2024 off-season. Thomas, who has been a member of the team since being drafted in 2016, has been to three pro bowls, is a two-time All-Pro, was the 2019 Offensive Player of the Year, and set the NFL record for most receptions in one season.

The Saints traded up in the 2023 draft to select Wake Forest wide receiver A.T. Perry. Perry was a reception machine in college, racking up 152 catches during his final two seasons, averaging just under 6 catches a game. Coming out of college, scouts expressed...

Predicting the Saints' starting offense following the 2024 NFL draft

It’s no secret that the New Orleans Saints’ offense wasn’t good enough last season. They struggled to protect the quarterback, establish the run, pick up third downs, and end drives with touchdowns, among other things successful units around the league do each week. And there hasn’t been a ton of turnover for them on offense this spring, either. The Saints are gambling on massive changes to the offensive coaching staff to lead to better results, not big changes to the starting lineup.

Maybe that’s the right approach. If Klint Kubiak can be a league-average play caller after Pete Carmichael was the NFL’s worst, that might be enough for the Saints to score more points and win more games in 2024. Either way, we’re expecting most of the starting lineup to return for 2023. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for change:

NFL analyst says Saints signed a top-10 undrafted free agent rookie class

  • News source: John Sigler

There aren’t many teams that can match the New Orleans Saints’ success in recruiting, developing, and leaning on undrafted talent. Just in recent years we’ve seen former rookie free agents like Rashid Shaheed, J.T. Gray, Carl Granderson, Juwan Johnson, Deonte Harty and Wil Lutz earn starting jobs and even Pro Bowl recognition after not hearing their names called during the NFL draft.

And this year’s crop has a lot of potential, too. FantasyPros’ Thor Nystrom is one of the best at evaluating the draft each year, and you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who more thoroughly studies the...

Pro Football Network says safety is Saints' biggest remaining weakness

Which positions look weakest on the New Orleans Saints’ depth chart? There’s still time to add reinforcements before training camp and the start of the 2024 season, but their options are limited with the biggest free agent signings and the NFL draft behind us.

According to Pro Football Network’s Dakota Randall, the Saints’ biggest remaining weakness is safety. Here’s why:

It’s a little late to start planning for the future after the draft, and it’s not like the Saints haven’t signed anyone. They brought in veteran defensive back Will Harris while re-signing other experienced backups like...

The NFL is set to release the entire 2024 schedule in a few days on Thursday, May 9th. We know all the New Orleans Saints opponents for next year, but we don’t know when they’ll play each team, so today I’m going to pick out the five games that I think would make the best season opener for the Saints 2024 season.

Saints 2024 opponents:

Home: Falcons, Panthers, Buccaneers, Browns, Broncos, Raiders, Rams, Commanders, Eagles

Away: Falcons, Panthers, Buccaneers, Cowboys, Packers, Chiefs, Chargers, Giants

The game I’m going to start off with is the Saints traveling to Kansas City to take on...

Anonymous NFL executive comments on Spencer Rattler's 'image concerns'

Why did Spencer Rattler fall into the fifth round of this year’s NFL draft? The New Orleans Saints made a great value pick by selecting him at No. 150 overall, but he was projected to go much higher. Reporting during and after the draft cited character concerns and suggested Rattler’s less-than-flattering appearance on a Netflix documentary when he was in high school had rattled some teams.

But that’s a narrative many of Rattler’s supporters have worked to unravel, including his former coach at South Carolina, Shame Beamer. Whatever immaturity and arrogance that may have been perceived...
