The Saints need to sign a solidified starting left guard

The New Orleans Saints have made some great moves this offseason, and the front office clearly has playoff hopes with this team. If more work is not done, the moves made so far might be for nothing. There are still some glaring holes on the roster, specifically at left guard, cornerback, and wide receiver. The Saints have a lot of talent at WR, and they were able to address corner a bit with the signing of Isaac Yiadom. The one position remaining is LG, and although there is a talented group of guard prospects in the draft, not signing one before is pretty risky.

Instead of starting with...

With all the cap maneuvers the New Orleans Saints needed to do this offseason, one that was most expected was a potential contract restructure with Cam Jordan. There was a small chance that if this agreement was not made, the Saints legend could have been on another team in 2025. The good news was Jordan did rework his deal to stay with the team, and today, those numbers were released.

Per a report by Nick Underhill, Jordan’s new cap number would be under $10 million.

As noted above, this is a huge cut that will now save the Saints more than $10 million dollars in cap space. Per Over the...

The New Orleans Saints continue to make moves on their salary cap as they have restructured newly-acquired defensive lineman Davon Godchaux, according to reports.

Godchaux, 30, has been in the NFL for eight seasons playing for both the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots. The Plaquemines native and LSU product has racked up 425 tackles in his career to go along with 5.5 sacks and a pair of froced fumbles.

The Saints have been very meticulous this offseason in the moves they have made in terms of free agency and contract restructures, opening up north of $40 million in spending...

Depth is one of the most vital ways a team can succeed in the NFL, and in recent years, the New Orleans Saints have struggled in that area. Last season in particular, we saw the lack of depth on the offensive line affect games. Head coach Kellen Moore values building in the trenches, and depth is an aspect of that. In free agency, the Saints have already signed offensive lineman Will Clapp, and today, they have announced that Landon Young has returned on a 1-year deal.

Young was a 6th round NFL Draft pick by the Saints in 2021. Since then, he has been a great depth piece and utilized as...

Most recently a member of the Detroit Lions, Williams also spent time with the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings during the 2024 season. He finished his fourth professional campaign with just 99 defensive snaps played, his lowest total since his 97 snaps as a rookie. The 29-year-old has three career sacks and 33 total pressures on 593 pass-rush snaps since signing with the Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2020.

Have the Saints turned their focus to bringing in players with Louisiana ties

The New Orleans Saints are entering a new era of football led by head coach Kellen Moore. When a new coach is hired, culture and team building is critical going into Year 1. Moore needs to build a team that can fulfill his vision while also having a strong culture that can be set up for success. The Saints have started to do that in free agency and will continue through training camp, but I noticed something with the players the Saints have acquired so far: Almost every single player is linked with Louisiana in some way. Safety Justin Reid is from Louisiana, Davon Godchaux is from...
