The New Orleans Saints 2022 season will end Sunday in the Caesars Superdome against Carolina, with neither a playoff position to jockey for nor a spoilers' role to play.

But the Saints (7-9) still want to finish the right way, and the right way for New Orleans would be to cap the season with its fourth consecutive victory against a Panthers team that has been feisty, to say the least, since undergoing an in-season coaching change.

Here are a few ways the Saints can end on a high note:

1. HAMMER AWAY: On offense, what has worked best for the Saints during their three-game winning streak has been the ground game – 129 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries against Philadelphia, 152 yards and two touchdowns on 39 carries against Cleveland, and 134 yards on 34 carries against Atlanta. Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill have led the way, and there's no reason that shouldn't be the case again Sunday. It'd be nice for the team to get in position to give Kamara a few shots at scoring a touchdown, which would be the 73rd of his six-year career and would establish a franchise all-time record. Regardless, running the ball and controlling the clock has worked and can be effective again against Carolina, which allows 121.4 rushing yards per game but only has given up 89.3 per game in the last three.

With New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore focusing on the offense, the defensive coordinator is a massive hire. Making life as a head coach as easy as possible is essential for a first-time head coach, and not having to worry about the opposite side of the ball can be a great way to do that. Since Moore’s hire, Brandon Staley has been the favorite for the job due to their past connection, similar to Doug Nussmeier on offense. The team also interviewed Philadelphia Eagles defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator Christian Parker and Minnesota Vikings defensive backs...

According to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, the Saints are hiring former Chargers head coach Brandon Staley as their defensive coordinator.

Last season, Staley was an assistant for the San Francisco 49ers.

The NFL Combine is right around the corner, and NFL’s Daniel Jeremiah held a Zoom call to preview the NFL Combine and talk about some of the NFL’s top draft prospects. During the call, Jeremiah identified the New Orleans Saints as a potential landing spot for Colorado quarterback, Shedeur Sanders.

Now this may cause a bit of a split reaction from Saints fans. There are some people out there who love Shedeur and then there are some out there...

The New Orleans Saints won’t be major players in free agency due to their cap issues, so the draft will be a big focus this offseason. With new schemes coming in and improvements desperately needed to be made, the 2025 NFL Draft is full of talent that can elevate this team and change the outlook of next season.

With the Saints’ first pick in the draft, they can go in many different directions. The roster needs talent and improvements, so going with the best available player is the best decision at 9. For this mock draft, that prospect is wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan out of Arizona...

If you ask the Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski, the New Orleans Saints and Ashton Jeanty are candidates for a perfect marriage. Jeanty and the Saints have been connected because of Kellen Moore’s Boise State ties, but Sobleski stayed away from that low-hanging fruit to explain why Jeanty could fit the Saints so well.

Taliese Fuaga and Trevor Penning impacted Sobleski’s decision as well. He sees a world where putting Jeanty behind “two young, run-blocking tone-setters at offensive tackle” could be turn Jeanty into the “focal point” for the Saints offense for the future.

It’s no secret that the New Orleans Saints have not been the most fun team to watch in recent years, but one player still carries an extreme entertainment factor when he is on the field.

Undrafted wide receiver Rashid Shaheed is a big play waiting to happen. Over his first three seasons, he has 94 catches for 1,556 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also has a rushing touchdown and two punt return scores.

His only real issue right now is his availability. He has missed team in each season and only played six games last year. If he can stay healthy, he is one of the most underrated players in...
