The New Orleans Saints officially hired Doug Nussmeier as their new offensive coordinator last week. The former Philadelphia Eagles QB coach has followed Kellen Moore around for his last three stops and now ends up in New Orleans with a promotion.

Nussmeier was the obvious favorite for the job ever since speculation of Moore becoming the Saints next head coach started swirling around on social media. Now that he officially has the job, I thought we could take a look at some things to know about the Saints new OC.

The New Orleans Saints have undergone a lot of changes in recent weeks after bringing in head coach Kellen Moore on February 10.

Since then, the former offensive coordinator has been assembling his staff, finding a good mix of people he’s worked with and people who would bring a ton of benefit to his team.

The New Orleans Saints coaching staff is nearly complete, but the defensive side still needs some roles to be filled. Yesterday, the Saints hired Texas assistant head coach/defensive pass game coordinator Terry Joseph to become the team’s defensive pass game coordinator. The New Orleans Saints are hiring California Golden Bears defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon to come work as their new linebackers coach, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
