The team is responding positively to new interim coach Darren Rizzi, with a defense that's now shut out opponents in the 4th quarter of back-to-back games after a series of blown leads during the losing streak.

Jeff Duncan of NOLA dot com is keeping it simple: You don't have to believe in it yet, but doubt Darren Rizzi at your own risk (read more here).

"Rizzi has pushed all the right buttons so far, and for at least a couple of more weeks, made everyone forget the dystopian dysfunction of the Dennis Allen era," Duncan writes.

"It’s all sunshine and rainbows right now with the Rizz." ...

The New Orleans Saints staff is nearly complete, and over on the defensive side of the ball, the team has made a concerted effort to add college experience. The hires of Peter Sirmon and Terry Joseph represent this goal, and today, per Luke Johnson, the Saints have done it again with the hiring of LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis.

Player development is a massive focus for the Saints this offseason, and with the 2025 NFL Draft having one of the best defensive line groups in recent memory, why not bring in one of the top defensive line coaches in college football. Davis has had defensive...

INDIANAPOLIS — New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis sees 11-year veteran quarterback Derek Carr as “a guy we can win with, and we’re excited about it.”

Loomis made those comments on Wednesday to a small group of New Orleans-based reporters who traveled to Indianapolis for the NFL scouting combine.

Carr has two years remaining on the four-year, $150 million contract that brought him to New Orleans as a free agent in 2023.

He is 14-13 as a starter in two seasons with the Saints, having gone 5-5 during an injury-riddled 2024 campaign. The Saints went 5-12 last season, their...

Carr’s two-year career in New Orleans has been disappointing to say the least. In 2023, Carr was solid, throwing for 3,878 yards, 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions while leading the Saints to a 9-8 record and missing the playoffs by one...
