The draft order is set.

If things remain as they are, the Saints will do plenty of waiting around during the early rounds. The team's first pick is No. 62 overall, and the next one after that is not until pick No. 168, which is in the fifth round.

The Saints also have picks No. 177 (sixth round), 202 (sixth), 231 (seventh) and 244 (seventh).

New Orleans traded its first-round pick to the Green Bay Packers to select defensive end Marcus Davenport last year. ...

The New Orleans Saints ruled two players out and listed five others questionable for Sunday’s season finale. Among those questionable is wide receiver Chris Olave who has been working towards trying to play for the past two weeks. Running back Alvin Kamara is doubtful, but interim head coach Darren Rizzi said they will test Kamara on Saturday before making a decision. Wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling was the only player on Friday’s injury report without a game-day listing and will play on Sunday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers ruled two players out and two players questionable. Tampa...

It’s already Week 18 and the New Orleans Saints will close out their 2024 season on the road to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Raymond James Stadium.

Earlier this week, we asked our readers whether they thought the Saints were headed in the right direction and only 5% said they think that the Saints are.

This comes after New Orleans lost 25-10 to the Las Vegas Raiders in the Caesars Superdome last Sunday. The Saints are currently 5-11 and while they have nothing on the line this week, the team hopes to end a tumultuous and injury filled season on high note with a win. If the Saints are...

The New Orleans Saints shared their final injury report of the 2024 season, but it doesn’t contain much good news before kickoff with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Star running back Alvin Kamara (groin) is doubtful for Sunday, and five more players are questionable. Two others have already been ruled out.

Neither starting quarterback Derek Carr (left hand) nor running backup Kendre Miller (concussion) will play in the regular season finale. Kamara will have a workout on Saturday to determine whether he can travel with the team and dress out to chase his first 1,000-yard season (he’s already...

Spencer Rattler looking for redemption vs. Buccaneers

Spencer Rattler’s first start came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and his last start will come against them, too. Hopefully for the New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback this full circle moment doesn’t end the way it started.

As has been the case for most of his starts, Rattler is without critical weapons and reliable offensive linemen. Rattler played without Chris Olave, Erik McCoy and Lucas Patrick in the first game and will do so again. He could also be without Alvin Kamara this time. Instead of Rashid Shaheed as Rattler’s deep threat, he has Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Essentially...

Saints make their decision on Week 18's starting QB

The New Orleans Saints will start Spencer Rattler, not Derek Carr, in Week 18’s regular season finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to the quarterback’s injury, interim head coach Darren Rizzi announced Friday. Carr attempted a game simulation at practice this week but wasn’t able to functionally grip the football after fracturing his left hand several weeks ago.

And Rizzi pointed out that this is a big loss for the team when asked how significant Carr’s loss was for the team: “It’s a huge impact. The obvious answer is we haven’t a game he hasn’t started. We were 5-5 with him as...

Alontae Taylor has been one of the worst tacklers in the NFL

You never want to be on the wrong side of this stat. Alontae Taylor has been one of the worst tacklers in the NFL this year, and the New Orleans Saints have felt the impact in both the running and passing game.

The cornerback has a 22 missed tackles, for a missed tackle rate of 20.2%. His 22 missed tackles are the most for any cornerback. His missed tackle rate, however, is higher than any defender with at least 100 tackling attempts.

When you think about a bad run defense, you typically think about the defensive lineman not getting push or linebackers not filling the gap efficiently...

2025 NFL draft order: Where could Saints be picking after Week 18?

  • News source: John Sigler

If the 2025 NFL draft started today, the New Orleans Saints would be picking at tenth overall. They’re the league’s only five-win team, and their advantage in the strength of schedule gives them an advantage over the six-win San Francisco 49ers; San Fran’s opponents have combined for a .566, giving New Orleans a tiebreaker at .507 going into the final week of the regular season.

So we’ve established that No. 10 is their floor. It’s where they’ve been for several weeks despite a couple of losses. Obviously they didn’t choose this, but it’s been a bad year for the Saints to go belly-up...

Former Saints backup earns Pro Bowl nod in first year on new team

This is a terrible look for Mickey Loomis and the people the New Orleans Saints general manager has put in charge. Former Saints backup Zack Baun won a nod to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games in his first year with the Philadelphia Eagles, having put up some impressive numbers through 16 games.

His 151 combined tackles are second-most around the league; 93 of them were solo, and he had 11 tackles for loss. He also bagged 3.5 sacks, twice as many as he had in his 62-game Saints career, to go with five forced fumbles (plus a recovery), an interception, and four pass deflections. Now he’s on the way...

Saints vs. Buccaneers loses some of its luster without Marshon Lattimore

Week 18’s New Orleans Saints versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers finale feels different knowing we won’t be seeing Marshon Lattimore versus Mike Evans. Lattimore has missed this game before due to injury, but this is the first matchup between the teams since Lattimore’s trade to the Washington Commanders earlier this season.

The rivalry between Lattimore and Evans always gave Saints fans something to look forward to, regardless of team success. In a day and age of love between opponents, there was genuine disdain and animosity between these two players. It made for a compelling 60 minutes twice a...
