In perhaps the biggest news of the New Orleans Saints’ head coaching search so far, the team wrapped up its virtual interview with the position’s front runner, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, the team announced on Friday.

Glenn is expected to be atop the list for not only the Saints but the New York Jets, as well. Glenn was drafted No. 12 overall by the Jets in 1994, so returning to the franchise as its head coach is likely to be appealing.

Though with ownership woes and the conflict around quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Saints may present a more stable environment for a first-time head coach. New Orleans would be able to provide more patience as well, as the team works to get out of its salary cap situation and move beyond its aging roster.

Per senior NFL insider Josina Anderson, the Saints and Jets are expected to “battle it out” for Glenn. ...

For the second year in a row the New Orleans Saints are moving to a new offensive system. Even before New Orleans hired Kellen Moore, the writing was on the wall. Klint Kubiak saw it and jetted to the Seattle Seahawks.

Seeing that he brought a staff with him to New Orleans and it’s only been a year, it makes sense that Kubiak take many of those guys to the pacific northwest with him.

Quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko has already followed and it appears Rick Dennison could be next in line. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, the Saints have granted Dennison permission to...

Head coaches are largely judged by their ability to win games and how their side of the ball performs. Dennis Allen, for example, lacked success, but his hot seat broke the thermometer as his defense began to falter.

Most prospective head coaches enter with an expertise on offense or defense. Kellen Moore has found success as the Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator, but he took the New Orleans Saints head coaching job after the Super Bowl.

The Eagles being in the Super Bowl at all was a sign to Marques Colston that Moore was “obviously doing something right.” While it does take...

By announcing a deal with Kellen Moore on Tuesday, the New Orleans Saints made Moore the youngest head coach in the NFL at 36 years old. He’ll turn 37 in July and is also the youngest head coach in Saints franchise history.

Moore would edge Demario Davis by just six months to be the oldest player on the team. His collegiate career overlapped with Derek Carr and Tyrann Mathieu. Davis and Moore were in the same 2012 draft class, and Cameron Jordan turned pro a year sooner in 2011. Moore isn’t far removed from some of the veteran leaders

We’ve seen the league be less hesitant to hiring...

Kellen Moore’s ascension was expeditious. He started out as the Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback coach in 2018 and became their offensive coordinator in the following seasons. His four-year run as the Cowboys coordinator was one year stints with the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles.

Over that six-year span, Moore worked with Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert and Dak Prescott. All three of these quarterbacks had a good amount of mobility. Hurts was a true dual-threat quarterback, but the ability to run has been a constant for Moore’s quarterbacks.

Of the New Orleans Saints’ current...

The New Orleans Saints hired Kellen Moore as their head coach this week, and his potential hire was the talk of Super Bowl week. The Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator was coaching in the biggest game of the year in his potential new home stadium. Of course conversations around his head coaching candidacy were discussed on and off camera.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini saw the natural comparison of Moore and former Saints head coach, Sean Payton, due to being offensive-minded coaches and decided to dig for information. Her conclusion wasn’t surprising.

The New Orleans Saints have found their head coach in Kellen Moore, but now they have to fill out the rest of their coaching staff around him. The two primary spots they will have to work towards filling are the offensive and defensive coordinator positions, with Klint Kubiak and Joe Woods leaving for new jobs around the league.

Offensive coordinator will be intriguing no doubt, as Moore will have to find someone he trusts immensely to work alongside him while he continues to call plays, and there are a few options that could come to fruition. One of those options is Doug Nussmeier, but...

Kellen Moore has his work cut out for him. The next head coach of the New Orleans Saints is taking over a roster with holes, busted draft picks, and aging veterans up and down the depth chart. Where will he move first to get this team back where it needs to be among the NFC’s winningest squads?

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has some intel on what’s coming. While rattling off a list of items on the to-do list like improved depth at wide receiver and the Derek Carr question at quarterback, Rapoport added this ominous nugget: “They have a decision coming on Taysom Hill, hard to imagine he’d be...

The Boise State legend will be taking over a team with major questions in a lot of areas and with little help in the financial department to get those cleared up. Even with this hurdle, Moore is excited for this new chapter in coaching career and is clearly up for the challenge.

Moore expressed his feelings on becoming the new head coach of the Saints and eagerness to get things started this offseason through a team statement:
