The #2 Georgia Bulldogs (11-2) face the #7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (12-1) in the CFP quarterfinals. The winner moves on to the Capital One Orange Bowl in the CFP semifinals on January 9th. If this game turns out anything like last year’s 37-31 playoff thriller, we should be in for another Sugar Bowl classic in the Dome.

The Sugar Bowl, taking place in my, and many of your, birthplace of New Orleans, in the beloved Superdome, always makes this game a must watch for Saints fans. Along with the Fiesta, Orange, and Rose, the Sugar Bowl has long been regarded as one of the most prestigious...

Saints vs. Buccaneers: Who has the all-time series lead?

The New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers close out the regular season. The Buccaneers are playing for a chance to secure their fourth consecutive NFC South championship.

That would tie them with the Saints for the longest streak in division history. They can accomplish that feat with a victory over the Saints in Week 18.

The momentum in this series has swung towards Tampa Bay. New Orleans won Sean Payton’s last seven games versus the Buccaneers, but Dennis Allen lost four of his five attempts. Darren Rizzi gets his first opportunity to take down the Buccaneers. He opened his interim coaching tenure with a divisional victory, and he’s looking to close it with one as well.

A Rizzi victory would keep the Saints from being swept by the Buccaneers for the second time in four years.

The Saints hold a sizable lead in the head to head matchup all-time, 40-26, and recent losses haven’t negated that. Let’s take a look at the highlights from recent showdowns between the Saints and Buccaneers:

This week’s pivotal contest between the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will certainly find its way into more homes than last week’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

If you weren’t in the local area or states neighboring Louisiana, the Week 17 Saints-Raiders game wasn’t aired locally. Saints and Buccaneers, however, will be broadcast with much greater range.

The divisional showdown is being aired locally in much of South Florida and Louisiana, and it’s the FOX early game on the entire West Coast and much of the Northeast, per 506 Sports.

Alvin Kamara could return in...

New Orleanians have had to experience the unthinkable this week after a New Years Day terror attack left 15 dead with dozens more injured in the early hours on Wednesday morning. The attack led to the rescheduling of the AllState Sugar Bowl quarterfinal game in the College Football Playoff and an increased police presence in the city.

The New Orleans Saints issued a statement in the aftermath, while interim head coach Darren Rizzi shared his own message when speaking with local media on Wednesday afternoon: “Everybody, just want to start off by saying today’s obviously a very somber day...

Baker Mayfield didn’t mention the New Orleans Saints or Marshon Lattimore directly, but he’s obviously circled the calendar for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ regular season finale — and what it could mean for Mike Evans. If Evans totals at least 85 yards against the Saints on Sunday, he’ll extend his streak of seasons with 1,000 or more receiving yards to all 11 years he’s been in the NFL.

“Obviously Mike’s a huge part of this offense and the record is pretty important for us to get,” Mayfield told reporters after Week 17’s win over the Carolina Panthers. Correcting himself, he continued...
