The Saints turned in another disappointing result for the season, and they're down to six crucial games that might spell out their future.

Derek Carr was supposed to be better than this.

When the quarterback signed a $150 million deal with the New Orleans Saints, it was supposed to be an upgrade over what the team had with Andy Dalton last season. Even if we consider it an upgrade — it's debatable because Dalton was actually good last season — the return on investment is clearly not there.

The Saints had the chance to open up a nice lead in the NFC South with a victory at the Atlanta Falcons. But the biggest play of the game was Carr throwing an inexcusable pick 6, telegraphing a throw that Falcons safety Jessie Bates III broke on and returned 92 yards for a touchdown.

The Falcons were bad on offense with Desmond Ridder back in the lineup, but Carr's mistake was too much to overcome. He didn't make enough positive plays to make up for the bad pick 6. The Falcons won 24-15 and are back in a tie with the Saints for the NFC South lead at 5-6. ...

There’s no question about Derek Carr’s status with the New Orleans Saints in 2024 — he’s their starting quarterback, full stop. Spencer Rattler may have arrived with a lot of momentum after falling to the Saints in this year’s NFL draft, but if spring practices are anything to go off of he has a lot of ground to make up just in pushing Carr’s backup Jake Haener.

But what about 2025? It’s tough to say anything with certainty a year in advance, but a rough season and a prime draft pick could mean the end of the road for Carr in New Orleans. The opportunity to draft an exciting young...

PFF ranks Saints Offensive Line worst in the NFL

Pro Football Focus’ Zoltán Buday put out his offensive line rankings ahead of the 2024 season on Monday placing the New Orleans Saints’ unit dead last.

The Saints will likely be without veteran right tackle Ryan Ramcyzk this season in addition to losing long-time starting guard Andrus Peat to the Las Vegas Raiders earlier in the offseason.

Due to the loss of starters on the offensive line, New Orleans used their first-round selection in the 2024 draft to add Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga to help out. Fuaga started at right tackle for the Beavers but will be lining up at left tackle for...

PFF says the Saints have the worst offensive line in the NFL

Pro Football Focus’ Zoltán Buday doesn’t believe there is an offensive line in the NFL worse than the New Orleans Saints. PFF is significantly less bullish on the Saints’ offensive line than positional expert Brandon Thorn, who ranked the unit at 19th amongst their peers.

Buday placed them 32nd out of the 32 teams. Here’s why PFF is so low on the big men up front in New Orleans:

Last-place feels harsh, but this is also the hardest unit to project. Erik McCoy and Cesar Ruiz are the only truly known commodities on the offensive trenches, and PFF hasn’t graded Ruiz too highly through his...

There are 68 days left until the New Orleans Saints kick off their 2024 season, which means it’s time for the Saints Play of the Day. Today we’re highlighting Taysom Hill’s 68-yard touchdown pass to Rashid Shaheed against the Atlanta Falcons in 2022 — a huge moment that gave the Saints a commanding 14-0 lead over their oldest rivals.

Both teams took the field with similar footing in mid-December. The Saints went into this matchup with a 4-9 record after a one-point loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a week earlier, while the Falcons were sitting at 5-8. But Juwan Johnson scored on a 19-yard...

There are 68 days left until the New Orleans Saints start their 2024 regular season, which means the current owner of the No. 68 jersey is our Saints Player of the Day. That’s Mark Evans II, a second-year pro from Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The young offensive lineman must take a big step forward in Year 2 if he’s going to avoid being lost in the shuffle. Let’s get to know him better:

Evans received more guarantees in his rookie contract last year ($241,000) than any other undrafted free agent in the Saints’ 2023 or 2024 classes, including this year’s much-hyped tight end Dallin Holker...

The start of New Orleans Saints training camp is just weeks away, and we still don’t know if fans will be invited to attend. That isn’t true for the other four teams practicing in Southern California this summer, though. Five NFL franchises plan to enjoy the benefits of mild weather at practice, and like the Saints several are travelling away from home.

July is finally here, and a decent-sized group of players from last year’s New Orleans Saints team are still waiting around in free agency. Some names are bigger than others — Michael Thomas was once the league’s best wide receiver, but he’s currently without a team. He’s joined by ten former teammates who are searching for their next opportunity. Jimmy Graham is unsigned,

I have always had a passion for sports ever since I was a kid. I played every sport from football, basketball, and baseball and I even tried my hand at tennis at one point. Sports have always been my favorite thing my entire life and now that I no longer physically play sports anymore, I knew it...
