Detillier: Saints have big odds to overcome to win on Sunday

The New Orleans Saints are hoping to start a winning streak Sunday in the Superdome.

The black and gold have some things working in their favor, and others not so much.

When the Saints face the Browns, the will have one of their key puzzle pieces back in place.

"Well the big difference this week is you've got your center back in Erik McCoy," NFL Analyst Mike Detillier told WWL's Tommy Tucker. "This team has not played the same offensively since McCoy went down."

Detillier says while that works in the Saints favor, history does not.

Sunday will be Interim Coach Darren Rizzi's second game at that position for the Saints.

"Interim coaches in game two, it's less than 20% of the game (that they win)."

He says, in fact, coaches who take over mid-season have only one 18% of their second games. ...

Saints meet with Shedeur Sanders at NFL Combine

Per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football, the New Orleans Saints had a formal meeting with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Sanders, son of Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, is one of the top QB prospects of this draft cycle. In the past two seasons at Colorado, he has amassed 7,362 passing yards, 64 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. The best game for Sanders would come in 2023, in a game against the Colorado State Rams, where he completed 38/47 passes for 347 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.
